What the job involves
- The VP International Compensation & Benefits will be a key member of the International Reward Team
- Activities will focus on leading the LATAM, Asia & Poland C&B team as well as being responsible for Compensation Projects including the Harmonizing of International Compensation across the combined WBD organization
- This role will report to the GVP International Compensation & Benefits, leading a team of approximately 14
- This role will form part of the International C&B leadership team and the Global TR SMT, inputting to the strategy for International and taking responsibility for driving benefit harmonization projects
- Provide leadership and expert guidance to the APAC, LATAM and Poland C&B teams, ensuring C&B priorities and initiatives are driven to successful completion in the regions and that the team provides expert partnership to People & Culture and the Business
- Build strong relationships with People & Culture and Business Leaders and ensure our programs and plans support the attraction and retention of top talent
- Partner with the Global Compensation Team to ensure design and delivery of global compensation programs support the attraction, retention and recognition of international employees
- Responsible for managing all WBD Sales Plans in International and lead on Sales Plan harmonisation. Partner closely with leadership, finance, and P&C to ensure effective and efficient plans are in place
- Lead on the development of new salary structures for International which support International needs and are sustainable to ensure we remain competitive
- Support our total rewards strategy through developing / adapting compensation plans and guidelines that ensure our employees are paid fairly and WBD can attract and retain talent
- Partner with the GVP International C&B and the VP International C&B for EMEA in providing leadership to the team and in driving the strategy on C&B initiatives
- Create educational materials for International P&C on Compensation providing them with the tools to effectively support their Business Leaders and employees
- This is 12 month FTC maternity cover role

Warner Bros Discovery (WBD) is an entertainment company formed from the 2022 merger of Warner Bros and Discovery. It is a leader in the creation, production, distribution, licensing, and marketing of content, with Warner Bros alone boasting a huge library – more than 100,000 hours of programming – before the companies were joined. WBD’s portfolio includes Discovery Channel, Warner Bros. Entertainment, Discovery+, HBO Max, and franchises like “Batman” and “Harry Potter”.
Both of the company’s previous businesses have operated throughout the digitisation of the media space. David Zaslav, CEO of WBD, headed Discovery during its expansion into digital media, to make it a “content company” over a “cable company”. The recent focus for Warner Bros has been on next-gen distribution efforts, expanding the availability of its content across platforms and devices to reach the modern viewer. The new company has plans to migrate to one tech stack, which will require extensive retooling, as well as exploring cost-saving automation opportunities for its operations.
Since the merger, the new giant that is Warner Bros Discovery has had a shaky start, forcing the company to wind down operations and cut back on content, which included the very public scrapping of the “Batgirl” movie. However, it now seems the company may have been ahead of the curve, as a wider trend of cutbacks has been seen from peers in the space. This early move, combined with a hyper-focus on cash generation, seeks to establish WBD as an outperformer in an industry on the downturn.
