Who you are
- If you’re looking to gain experience in the world of data-analytics, international business, innovation and technology, then this is for you
- So if you’re confident, ambitious and driven by results, then we’d love to have you on board
- (Currently pursuing) a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Analytics, Artificial Intelligence (AI), Mathematics, or another related field
- Understanding of data structures, databases, and SQL
- Familiarity of BI concepts and the data life cycle
- Highly motivated and enthusiastic, with great initiative and work ethic
- Full English working proficiency (verbal and written)
- Strong analytical skills and a getting-things-done mentality
- Proactive and full of new ideas
- Eager to use and create valuable data insights by using the latest technologies in the area of BI and Data Science (we’ve got licenses!)
- Detail-oriented with a strong focus on data accuracy and quality
- You are available for a full-time internship for at least 5 months
- You are excited to live and learn in Amsterdam, Netherlands
- An interest in health, fitness, nutrition, productivity and/or workplace wellness are additional assets
What the job involves
- This is a rare opportunity - the type of internship that just doesn’t come round very often
- We are now looking for a highly motivated intern to join our Amsterdam-based team in our efforts to make the world a healthier and fitter place
- During this exciting 6-month internship, you will support one of our awesome innovations in which we are using the data generated by millions of app-users
- You’ll be challenged in a fast moving environment with exceptional learning opportunities
- You’ll be a respected member of the team, and have the opportunity to deliver your own project
- In addition, you’ll work closely with the data and analytics departments, getting the chance to develop a range of professional skills and expertise
- During your BI / Data Engineering Internship, you will be involved in the following activities:
- Design, build, and maintain data pipelines, databases, and data processing systems to support the extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) of data from a variety of sources
- Use SQL, Python, or other programming languages to manipulate and analyze data
- Create value out of the data generated by hundreds of employees, thousands of clients and millions of consumers
- Support strategic decision-making by providing the data-driven insights to crucial business questions
- Translate complex datasets into actionable business insights
- Use state of the art BI-software to create stunning visualizations
- Work closely with different departments to coordinate effective use of data to optimize operations
- Implement data governance and privacy standards across various data sources and platforms
