Staff Software Engineer, Linus Health

• 7+ years of software engineering experience with significant expertise in RESTful services and database design
• 4+ years building large-scale restful services including database design
• Strong grasp of modern Java programming, tooling and ecosystems (Maven, JVM internals, advanced Java features, multi-threading, concurrency, memory management)
• Deep understanding of the Spring ecosystem (Spring Boot, Spring Security), Microservices architecture, RESTful API design, and performance tuning
• Familiarity with AI-assisted development workflows, and proven ability to accelerate development workflows through practical application
• Proficiency in query performance optimization and transactional consistency
• Strong communication skills—able to drive consensus, document decisions (ADRs, RFCs), and present tradeoffs clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders

• Establish best practices for testing (unit, integration, snapshot, e2e), CI/CD pipelines, code quality, and observability in backend systems
• Mentor and empower engineers across multiple teams, raising the bar through reviews, workshops, and shared documentation
• Collaborate cross-functionally with Software Architect, Product, Design, Data Science/Medical, and Security to translate requirements into elegant, maintainable solutions
