Who you are
- You have experience building and deploying services on AWS or similar cloud providers
- You have proficiency in at least one of the following: Python, Javascript
- You have experience with both relational and NoSQL databases
- You have experience working on consumer facing products
- You have worked on services that have needed to scale quickly
What the job involves
- The Workspaces team is a core vertical product team responsible for driving engagement and retention across our Analytics product line
- The team owns a wide variety of surfaces (Search, Dashboards, Spaces, Alerts and Notifications)
- As we invest more in notifications, alerts, and search as engagement levers, there is a need to scale out our existing infrastructure. This role will help us ensure we can support 10X growth in usage of these services
- Drive performance and scalability improvements for our notifications, alerting, and ML infrastructure
- Enhance caching infrastructure to support products with low frequency of usage but high query volume
- Improve quality of our anomaly detection models
- Identify and contribute to the infrastructure roadmap for the Workspaces team
Our take
Amplitude provides product analytics to help companies understand user behaviour. Product, marketing, and growth teams use Amplitude to discover and share insights about user engagement, retention, and revenue.
Amplitude’s user flows reveal which actions are the most commonly taken after users sign up, and which usually precede purchases made in-app, creating paths through the app. The behaviour of individual app users can be viewed with unlimited real-time activity feeds and user timelines.
Thousands of companies use Amplitude analytics including Microsoft, Under Armour, Intuit, Twitter, Bonobos, Peloton, and many more. In 2024, a securities fraud case was filed against Amplitude due to an IPO and stock share rise that was alleged to be artificially inflated before their downturn in 2022. Whilst this case is ongoing, Amplitude is still releasing new products and operating at full capacity.
