Role
Who you are
- We are looking for an experienced Data Engineer who is excited to develop and implement a strong quality and automated testing focused on our data pipelines
- Must have significant Python experience and feel comfortable independently determining what is happening in a complex system
- The ideal person for this role is an experienced Data Engineer with expertise in data pipeline testing
- You should be able to look at a data pipeline and determine what tests we should be using to confirm data quality, consistency, and confidence
What the job involves
- You'll be a key contributor to EvolutionIQ's unified claims platform working closely with data science, data engineering teams to build robust, scalable and high quality data pipelines
- Create strong development best practices ensuring high quality releases
- Develop data quality checks and maintain pipeline health using Python
- Build and iterate on testing frameworks for continuous testing and delivery
- This role is intended for a data engineer as this person will eventually be setting the foundation for development best practices and making changes to the pipelines themselves to be more resilient
- You will have a key role in shaping the future of Evolution IQ’s data pipelines
- From technology choices to contributing to the roadmap, you will have a large amount of ownership and scope in this role
- The team will look to you to provide crucial technical expertise and help prioritize features
- In this role you will help ensure the satisfaction of our users by demonstrating that existing and new products meet the highest standards of security, reliability, performance, and user-friendliness
- Your job duties will encompass building automation tooling, maintaining and enhancing the test automation framework, optimizing test automation throughout the continuous integration pipeline
- Experience with all phases of software testing including test planning, functional testing, regression testing, and designing test architecture
- Experience with test automation of RESTful APIs, databases, and data pipelines
- Significant database experience with a focus on the data quality
- Experience with working in an Agile environment and CI/CD driven testing culture
- Ideally Demonstrates programming skills in Python using PyTest, Jest and DBT
- Understanding of contract testing and the value it can provide
