Who you are
- You've demonstrated ability to navigate complex systems spanning multiple business domains and technical boundaries
- You're a builder - at Alan there is no architect in an ivory tower, we're first and foremost builders who implement what we design
- You've worked with diverse architectural patterns and can articulate the nuanced trade-offs between
- You're a system thinker that enables you to see both the forest and the trees—understanding how individual components contribute to the larger multi-product ecosystem
- We are looking for problem-solver engineers with 5+ years of experience who get excited about simplifying complex business problems:
- You’ll be able to tackle high-impact & high-risk projects involving many engineers
- You’ll design efficient systems and engineering practices to align with and facilitate interactions between multiple teams/products
- You’ll have the opportunity to mentor other engineers & lead crews (more details in this article)
- You’ll be able to contribute to hiring your future coworkers and shape candidates’ hiring experience (improving our technical assessment process etc...)
- Well-versed in Object Oriented Programming such as Python, Java, C#, and enthusiastic about web technologies such as modern Javascript
- Willing to work in Python/JavaScript (but you don’t need to have experience with those 2 languages!)
- Passionate about building products
- Self-starting and entrepreneurial
- Humble and still willing to grow (no matter your seniority!)
- Collaborative, enthusiastic about teamwork, learning, and teaching
- Fluent in English (no need to speak French!)

- Design Cross-Cutting Solutions: Transform siloed, country-specific and product-specific implementations into elegant global systems that maintain full functionality while dramatically reducing redundancy
- Orchestrate Data Transformation: Design and implement sophisticated migration strategies that consolidate fragmented data structures into unified schemas supporting multiple products and markets
- Drive Technical Evolution: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to methodically refactor legacy systems and establish development practices that embrace both global and multi-product perspectives
- Enable Strategic Growth: Your work will be the technical backbone that enables us to launch faster, scale efficiently, and enter new markets with confidence
- Solve Multi-Dimensional Challenges: You’ll operate at the intersection of products, geographies, and legacy systems—untangling complexity with elegant, forward-looking solutions
- Apply Advanced Design Principles: Apply and evangelize architectural best practices to build systems that are resilient, adaptable, and easy to evolve
