Who you are
- Passion for contemporary art and desire to learn about the art world
- 2+ years of experience in lead generation, outbound outreach, lead qualification, CRM management, or similar roles
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage and organize data
- Proficiency in Google Spreadsheets (or Excel)
- Experience using email marketing and automation tools such as Hubspot and Apollo.io
- Experience using lead generation strategies and tools such as Clay.com
- Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams, and external client-facing interactions (e.g. artists)
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects and deadlines
What the job involves
- We are searching for an enthusiastic and detail-oriented SDR / BDR / AE - Outbound Artist Relations (Sales Development Representative / Business Development Representative / Account Executive) to help build a high-quality community and artwork within the app
- Reporting to the Director of Operations who is based in London UK, this role focuses primarily on building a solid foundation of art world information from existing accounts to potential artist prospects
- This art world, data-focused role generates the email and contact information, stores and manages data, automates outreach, and populates content data
- Additionally, the SDR will respond to follow up emails, answer FAQs, and provide support to artists
- Prospect for artist leads using creative tactics, online research, data mining, Upworker contractors, and tools such as Clay.com
- Qualify, prioritize, and bucket leads based on curatorial criteria such as gallery representation, education,exhibition history, artwork medium, geography
- Refine and iterate on outreach messaging, to maximize conversion
- Reach out to leads using Apollo.io or a similar toolset
- Channel replies (and inbound inquiries) into Hubspot CRM of potential artists
- Respond to interactions from artists, and hand off VIP/high-touch prospects to the Account Manager, Art & Operations
- Maintain and track lead generation metrics to optimize and improve the lead generation process
- Conduct regular audits of the lead database to ensure accuracy and completeness
- Work collaboratively with the Supply/Art team to funnel, triage, and elevate potential artist leads to the relevant Supply/Art team members
- Maintain HubSpot CRM with relevant information, including contact details and location
- Optimize the process for uploading of contact information into our HubSpot CRM
- Populate the Peggy admin panel with relevant information, including data entry of artist CV details and artwork descriptions
- Wear many hats, e.g. on an ad hoc basis, assisting with artist onboarding calls, fingerprinting training, etc
- Use your skills to help the Demand team generate lists of collectors and collector influencers (e.g. interior designers, real estate agents, etc)
- Prioritize, triage, and streamline Hubspot and Zendesk inbounds from artists, galleries, and collectors
Our take
While art trading is a popular investment method, it is often out of reach of most people and traditionally 'reserved' for the very wealthy. The true value of affordable artists' work is difficult to appraise, and artists miss out on royalties as their works gain value and are re-sold. Peggy seeks to unite collectors and artists with an app-based market that verifies work, allowing it to be traded with confidence while also paying artists their share.
Peggy faces intense competition in the emerging online art market space. Artsy is a huge online market that relies on close relationships with galleries and art fairs, and Artfare specializes in in-house curation of local art scenes. Artists can also opt to sell their works directly through social marketplaces such as Etsy, Patreon, or Ko-Fi. However, Peggy hopes to stand out with its digital fingerprinting technology, which uses machine learning and AI to verify the authenticity of the artwork. These works can be traded on its social platform, creating an art market without the need for experts or auction houses.
Having recently raised a round of seed funding led by Real Ventures, Peggy is moving to take on new talent, accelerate growth and development, and expand operations while deepening its relationships with artists and galleries worldwide.
