Who you are
- We are looking for team members who are passionate about contributing to the growth of a product that’s improving access to healthcare for all Americans
- 10+ years of experience in People Operations or as an HRBP, with a heavy emphasis on talent strategy and organizational development in high-growth tech environments
- Proven experience designing and scaling performance management systems and manager training programs from the ground up
- Demonstrated ability to operate at the P6 level, showing high autonomy and the ability to influence C-suite stakeholders
- Mastery of organizational design principles and a track record of leading successful change management initiatives
- Exceptional strategic thinking and communication skills, with a bias toward clarity and directness
- Deep understanding of employment law and best practices within the US market (SF based)
What the job involves
- We are seeking a strategic and results-oriented People Business Partner Director to lead our talent strategy and organizational effectiveness
- You will serve as the architect of our high-performance culture, ensuring our people programs scale alongside our business
- In this role, you will report to the Vice President, People and collaborate closely with the Executive Leadership Team and department heads
- Strategic Talent Architecture: Serve as the architect for talent strategy and organizational design, ensuring the workforce is structured to meet aggressive business goals while creatively utilizing AI to automate workflows and extract deeper workforce insights
- Manager Enablement & Feedback: Lead people manager enablement programs, equipping leaders with the tools and coaching necessary to lead high-performing teams through formal 360/180 feedback cycles and bi-annual engagement surveys
- Performance & Compensation: Partner with People Ops on the end-to-end execution of company-wide performance review cycles and annual compensation planning, moving beyond administration to drive a culture of continuous feedback, high accountability, and equitable outcomes
- Global Strategy Integration: Integrate enablement and people strategy across a geographically dispersed workforce, ensuring a consistent and high-impact employee experience from San Francisco to remote US team members to Tel Aviv
- Executive Advisory & Relations: Act as a senior advisor to leadership on workforce planning and change management, while leading complex employee relations matters with a focus on equity, compliance, and long-term resolution
- Culture & Advocacy: Act as a guardian and advocate for PayZen’s culture, ensuring "The PayZen Way" and our core values are integrated into every stage of the employee lifecycle and reflected in daily operations
Our take
More than half of Americans cannot cover an unexpected medical expense of $1,000. To help solve this healthcare affordability crisis, PayZen offers personalized payment options. Using AI and machine learning, patient’s data is analysed to evaluate their ability to pay, making it possible to pre-emptively support those in financial difficulty.
PayZen works for patients and medical providers. Providers can expect to get a much higher collection rate with accelerated cash flow, without having to pay software costs or program fees, whist patients receive affordable and flexible access to care without interest or fees. A patient’s debt doesn’t increase, as they never have to pay more than the cost of the service.
While the Buy-Now-Pay-Later space in healthcare is becoming increasingly overcrowded - Afterpay and Sezzle, for example, allow customers to pay their medical bills in interest-free instalments - PayZen's strong funding history puts it in a good position from which to grow. It has used funds to accelerate its mission and launch new ventures such as the "Care Card", that offers the benefits of its payment plans in the form of a physical and virtual debit card.
