What the job involves

Recall this is an early stage startup. We do not have "front-end", "back-end" or "machine learning engineers". Everyone is just an engineer.
You should be able to pick up new languages/frameworks in a day and combine disciplines flexibly to solve problems on the job
In a single day a Latch engineer might work on features spanning:
Systems programming
Full-stack web development
Database administration
Infrastructure engineering
Statistical / algorithmic programming

Our take

Biological research innovations are leading to ever larger data heaps, and it is getting harder to analyze it all. Addressing this need, LatchBio helps to collate and analyze data from bio research using a Cloud Bioinformatics platform, end-to-end data organizer and workflow builder.

With backgrounds in big tech and data pipelining for the likes of Google and Twitter, the founders of LatchBio implemented their skills for the rapidly evolving world of biotech, taking the weight of biocomputation off the hands of the scientists running the tests. Having closed a Series A funding round in June 2022, the company's switch from big data companies seems to be paying off.

As new discoveries are made, the problem might arise that LatchBio does not evolve its platform to keep up with the wide range of demands and variants in biological research. At the moment though, its platform - and the cost and time savings it delivers to its users - is turning heads.
