What the job involves
- Lead for Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A), including all elements of financial business partnership with the goal of driving better business decisions
- Forecasting, planning and strategic analysis of the existing business and future opportunities
- Supporting all functions within Dumfries Customer Ops with FP&A
- Owning, developing and improving processes and systems for FP&A, managing the interface between global and local requirements
- Proactively partnering with managers to identify and drive strategic and value creation opportunities
- Managing, both directly and indirectly, more junior members of the wider Finance team providing coaching, development and support
- Profit and Loss forecasting and planning, both short term and longer term strategic, building models and processes to provide insights and advice enabling key business decisions to be made
- Business analysis for ad-hoc leadership team requests, using what if scenarios and financial insight to drive better business performance. This covers many different types of analysis, including customer; category and product profitability and variance reporting and analysis. This requires the ability to work quickly and accurately under intense time pressure, on complex tasks, in what is often a rapidly developing and ambiguous environment
- Presenting (both written and verbal) of results and analysis to UK and International leadership ensuring that, in a complex and rapidly changing environment, messages (including those related to complicated accounting issues) are easily digested and understood by senior leaders
- Budgeting – lead the budget process, including systems, processes and stakeholder engagements from the leadership team level down, ensuring efficient systems and processes for a clear budget outcome that the organization can be held accountable to deliver
- Development of future dashboards/systems and process to enable leaders to make strategic decision for the business, including both financial and non-financial elements
- Subject matter expert for commercial pricing and discounts (tender pricing), partnering to ensure that optimal business decisions are made
- Support commercial and marketing in identifying new sales and margin initiatives, through building both relationships and expertise
- Meeting company standards pertaining to quantity and quality of work performed on an ongoing basis, performing all work related tasks in a manner that is in compliance with all Company policies and procedures
- Adhering to Company policies, procedures, and directives regarding standards of workplace behaviour in completing job duties and assignments
