Role
Who you are
- 2+ years working in a Backend, DevOps, or SRE role where you were directly involved in deploying supporting infrastructure (Cloud services, data monitoring, CI/CD, deployment pipelines)
- Experience in designing, building, scaling, and maintaining production services, and a strong understanding of how to develop a service-oriented architecture
- Experience with Azure Web Services or equivalent (AWS, GCP); a desire to use or learn Azure is a must
- Experience working with Node, TypeScript, GraphQL and MongoDB or a desire to learn; at least some proficiency with Javascript is a must
- Experience with Docker and deployment automation (Terraform, Jenkins, or equivalent) a plus
- Culture fit (Think Big, Do Good/ Win Together/ Be Gritty/ Invent & Reinvent)
- Self-starter with the capability of executing on projects independently
- Experience working with complex cloud infrastructure, systems, and have a solid understanding of technology fundamentals

What the job involves
- As a Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) at Dispatch, you will work with individuals across the organization to help Dispatch implement our distributed commerce solution to make media shoppable, anywhere, while leveraging a merchant’s existing payment and BE infrastructure
- This is a cross-functional opportunity where you will be able to leverage your technical skills to help IEX’s Dispatch team set new standards and raise the bar for performance, fairness, and transparency
- Design, build, and operate our foundational data infrastructure - monitoring, deployments and troubleshooting
- Automate repeatable processes with solutions that are robust, configurable, and scalable (Terraform, deployment CI/CD)
- Build tools to monitor systems and automate processes around network and server infrastructure
- Write high quality, well tested code
- Collaborate with other business functions (e.g., development, market operations, business development, subscribers, etc.) to bring best of breed product to market with reliability and observability as core tenets
Our take
Innovations in fintech infrastructure have dramatically changed how people invest, but despite such developments, investors still face limitations when trading assets. Exchanges often list out-of-date pricing information which limits investors' abilities to make strategic investment decisions, a problem that is heightened through knock-on effects from other unstable stock prices.
IEX provides a registered US stock exchange for investors and broker-dealers, focussing on providing a more stable trade execution experience than existing exchanges. The company achieves this through its "Speed Bump" strategy that delays trades to gather up-to-date pricing information whilst assessing them for price stability, ensuring that trades are not executed based on stale data, and helping to notify other orders to react to other stock price stability levels.
Whilst the company must share the stock exchange sector with many competitors, IEX show great promise through its focus on maintaining pricing accuracy and stability. The company also stands out by providing a cloud platform for the selling, sharing, and use of financial data, in addition to an investment lifecycle advice tool for institutional investors.
