Who you are
- 5+ years of DevOps/Cloud engineering experience, with deep AWS expertise
- Strong infrastructure-as-code experience (Terraform, AWS CDK, or similar)
- Experience with containerization, orchestration, and CI/CD pipelines

What the job involves
- Design and implement cloud infrastructure to support our growing distributed systems
- Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines and automated deployment processes
- Create observability systems for monitoring application and infrastructure health
- Drive infrastructure-as-code practices and cloud security standards
- Scale our AWS infrastructure to handle 300M+ annual job placements across multiple geographic regions
- Implement robust monitoring and alerting for ML model performance and data pipelines
- Automate infrastructure deployment using AWS CDK across multiple environments
- Design secure, compliant systems for handling sensitive data at scale
- Stack: AWS (ECS, RDS, OpenSearch), CDK, GitHub Actions, Docker, OpenTelementry, Grafana
- Scale: 100M job placements last year, expanding 3-5X across multiple regions
- Team: 6-person engineering team, working closely with ML and platform engineers
- Development practices: Infrastructure-as-code, automated testing, security-first mindset
- Emphasis on automation and self-service developer tools
- We're a collaborative team that values technical excellence, experimentation, and sharing
- We work in the office on MWF to maximize our time together. We're located adjacent to Seaport and convenient to the North and South Stations
- Our product and team are small enough that individuals can have an outsized impact
- Reports to: Head of Engineering, partners with Technical Lead

Our take
Talent identification and acquisition has always been a challenge for HR teams, but the labor shortage is making it more difficult than ever. The founders of AdeptID believe that poor talent matching is a billion-dollar problem, and they’re aiming to address it with its machine-learning-powered API.
While there’s no shortage of talent search and matching platforms, from LinkedIn to Zoho Recruit, AdeptID sets itself apart by providing an API which plugs into existing infrastructure. Another interesting aspect of AdeptID’s approach is how its ML tech focuses on lesser-explored talent avenues, particularly candidates who don’t hold degrees and might otherwise be filtered out in other talent searches.
AdeptID is still in its early stages, having launched in 2020, but its bootstrapped first year brought in an encouraging $1 million. Backed by Zeal Capital Partners, the company has been scaling operations in the last couple of years. It is also a certified B-corp, and in 2023 partnered with OneTen to improve hiring outcomes for black talent in the US.
