Who you are
- Solid experience in venture building, innovation, strategy consulting, business strategy or startups
- A deep understanding of what makes great businesses and how to commercialise opportunities
- A proven track record of taking ideas and bringing them to life across a range of industries
- Outstanding analytical skills and financial competence to build forecasts & P&Ls. Solid grasp of performance metrics
- Strong communication skills, internal and external, written and verbal. A strong track record in writing structured presentations & impactful pitch decks
- Strong doer, executor. Outstanding drive to results. Ability to make things happen and a strong sense of ownership
- Consistently able to deliver on commitments. Operates with urgency and pace without neglecting quality
- Enthusiastic team player who loves working collaboratively and builds positive relationships
- Willingness to roll up sleeves and a "getting hands dirty" mentality
- Calm under pressure, proven success in managing multiple deadlines and fast paced environment

What the job involves
- As Business Strategist, Talent Ventures you will research trends & markets, teasing out problems, hypothesising solutions, testing and validating their appeal, and thinking about the commercial foundations for new businesses
- You will proactively drive each project forward and have ownership of the deliverables in each of our incubation phases
- Run the exploration of new commercial white spaces through
- In depth competitive analyses & deep dive of most disruptive market players including benchmarking of pricing & monetization strategies
- Creating insights into how macro trends, changing consumer needs & culture influence the venture opportunities in that space
- Engaging with customer segments via qualitative methods to truly understand their needs - and as a result designing more impactful solutions
- Researching across a range of business models to find practical solutions to add value
- Examining market size & growth
- Developing new propositions for potentially disruptive consumer businesses, while harnessing the convening power of talents who have (sometimes millions of) loyal followers
- Test and validate business concepts via smoke testing, paid ads testing or other user research, rapidly and cost effectively
- Build financial forecasts & P&Ls based on key assumptions on performance metrics
- Support the Director of Business Strategy in writing structured presentations & compelling pitch decks to present business ideas to exec team including CEO as well as potential investors
- Brief creative & brand strategy teams to develop brand positioning, visual identity & logos
- Proactively manage projects & stakeholders to ensure that deadlines are met and operations run efficiently
- Support the Director of Business Strategy in implementing and refining a repeatable process of building and funding new ventures
- Occasionally support the wider strategy team in delivering extraordinary client work & growing client accounts
