Role
Who you are
- A Bachelor’s (or higher) degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Data Science, or related technical field with strong quantitative foundation
- 5+ years of experience in data analytics or data science
- Advanced technical expertise with modern data stacks (i.e. dbt, Airflow, etc.) and data visualization tools (i.e. Looker, Tableau, Hex, etc.)
- Strong experience working directly on A/B testing, including experiment design, deployment, and results interpretation
- Experience building/maintaining multitouch attribution models to quantify the impact of user touchpoints on conversion and engagement
- Deep understanding of growth analytics metrics (e.g. conversion, churn, LTV) and experience translating them into actionable insights
Desirable
- Experience within a fast-paced, high-growth startup environment with the ability to handle dynamic analytical priorities
- A proven ability to connect analytics insights to business strategy, influencing product decisions that drive revenue and growth
- Advanced proficiency with Python/R for analytics/scripting
- Experience working with event-based data
What the job involves
- Our Analytics team is in search of a Data Scientist! This role will be an analytical engine behind data-driven decision-making at Rula
- As an individual contributor, you will partner with teammates and stakeholders across Marketing, Product, and Finance to take ownership of generating insights and recommendations that shape strategy for Marketing and Growth Product teams using data
- You will translate broad questions into actionable research and discovery plans, perform proactive data exploration to identify actionable insights, and communicate results in a concise and compelling manner
Our take
More than half of adults in the US will be diagnosed with a mental illness during their lifetime, and yet inaccessibility of treatment remains a huge problem. That’s what Rula aims to solve, with its platform that matches users to therapists that are covered by their insurance.
The company, formerly known as Path, is partnered with a number of major health insurers, including UnitedHealthcare and Anthem, making it an accessible service for millions of Americans. It allows users to browse therapists almost instantly, with just a short questionnaire to fill in before their matches are shown.
Though the market for tech services offering mental health provision is an overstuffed one, containing giants like BetterHelp as well as newer competitors, Rula's partnerships with insurers do mark it out against the crowd. The business has been steadily growing, and significantly bolstered its executive team in 2023. Its recent rebrand was designed to emphasize its vision to improve not only access to mental health care, but also clinical outcomes.
