Fancy's mission is to offer its customers speedy grocery deliveries. They aim to get groceries and more delivered to customers' doors within 30 minutes
Fancy is an on-demand delivery app that was launched in 2020 by two Y Combinator graduates. So far, Fancy has launched in Birmingham, Bristol, Leeds, Liverpool, Manchester and Newcastle, with its sites set on a number of other locations.
The app was launched in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic. The delivery industry was one of the few sectors which saw considerable growth during this time. Since, the dark-stores market has continued to experience sharp growth as consumers continue to look for convenient options. As such, the founders chose a prime moment in which to enter the market
Unlike big-name delivery brands like Deliveroo, Uber Eats and Just Eat, Fancy specialises solely in groceries, including alcoholic drinks, medicines, canned goods and fresh ingredients. They offer these goods at supermarket prices and their sleek modern iOS app is easy-to-use
Fancy has secured substantial funding, having had a place on Y Combinators accelerator program. It has managed to launch and scale quickly in its first four locations, and is set to expand rapidly in new cities around the UK.
