Who you are

Experience as Senior DevOps Engineer or Senior Software Engineer (programming experience preferable in Elixir or Ruby)
Practical experience and solid knowledge of cloud computing concepts and AWS services
Hands-on experience and a broad understanding of modern technologies as e.g. Kubernetes, Kafka, PostgreSQL, Redis, Prometheus & Grafana, Datadog, ELK
Experience in handling automation tools and infrastructure as code (e.g. Terraform, GitOps with ArgoCD)
Solid networking (VPN tunnels, DNS and routing as well as security), containerization (Docker) and Linux system administration skills
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, strong client focus
Strong observability mindset and troubleshooting skills
Enjoy sharing knowledge and mentoring other engineers about best practices and our platform
Eager to learn continuously and automate repetitive tasks
Methodical & structured way of working
Self-driven personality

What the job involves

Develop and maintain DevOps stack with infrastructure as code (Terraform) to support application developers
Design, implement and maintain our cloud infrastructure and tools on AWS and Kubernetes
Build & maintain platform tooling and CI/CD pipelines to help our product development teams develop faster and automate processes
Plan and monitor capacity, performance, security and availability of services
Train application developers on DevOps skills

Our take

Marley Spoon provides meal kits designed to make week-night cooking easier and more enjoyable. Its source-to-order business model results in less food waste, and its use of efficient delivery routes means that there is less impact on the environment.

With the popularity of meal kits soaring during the pandemic, the company was able to capitalize on momentum and rapidly expand its services. In 2021, Marley Spoon acquired Chefgood, another meal subscription service, allowing it to tap into other market segments and expand its portfolio of existing brands including "Martha Stewart & Marley Spoon", and Dinnerly.

Although meal kits are still popular, especially among those with busy schedules, there has been a decline in their use more recently, in part due to cost-of-living concerns among consumers. Marley Spoon's order frequency has dipped, though the company remains positive that it can remedy this through merchandising efforts and loyalty programs, which for now seems to be its focus.
