Who you are
- 2-3 years experience in public accounting preferred
- CPA designation (or working towards CPA) is preferred
- Advanced Excel proficiency
- Proven track record of proactive problem-solving, issue identification and resolution

What the job involves
- Loopio’s Finance team is growing! We are looking for a Financial Analyst who will take ownership of full cycle accounting processes and be part of a collaborative and high performing team

- Reporting into the Assistant Controller, the Financial Analyst will own the preparation of financial reporting and accounting for key business processes
- . Our team has a strong focus on process improvement and this role will have a significant impact in driving efficiency in financial reporting and internal controls
- This role will directly impact business decisions, through preparation of accurate and timely financial information
- The Finance team is a key business partner to other departments that service our 1,000+ customers
- There will be many opportunities for the duties and role to scale as Loopio continues to grow
- Assist in the preparation and documentation of working papers, financial statements, and reports to support accurate financial reporting for a variety of internal and external stakeholders
- Actively facilitate the month-end close process and month-end analysis for various accounts
- Monitor, review, analyze and reconcile accounts to ensure accuracy and proactively identify and report on variances
- Coordinate transactional investigation with other business units and implement timely adjustments when needed
- Preparation of GST/HST/PST/VAT returns
- Work with other Finance team members to continuously improve and automate team processes, documentation and templates
- Act as a liaison for Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable, facilitating smooth communication and transaction processing
- Assist with compliance (sales taxes, reporting, corporate taxes) amongst multiple entities in various jurisdictions (Canada, US, India, and UK)
- Continually execute internal controls, identify areas for process improvement and strengthen the control environment
- Assist with managing audit / tax requests and submissions to external parties
- Assist with ad-hoc projects across the Finance team
- You’ll collaborate with your teams virtually (we’re just a Zoom call away!) and have established core sync hours and focus time during the workday to enable us to work smarter together
- Your manager supports your development by providing ongoing feedback and regular 1-on-1s
