Role
Who you are
- Strong background and understanding of aging Accounts Receivables (AR), denials, using insurance portals, and contacting insurance companies directly
- Love for investigating, getting to the root of an issue, and cleaning up accounts
- 1+ Years of experience in Accounts Receivables (AR)
- Preferred, but not required: experience with DME billing
- Must be able to prioritize and work independently
- Ability to work Full Time 40 hours per week within the time zones in the United States
What the job involves
- With our rapid growth, we are looking to hire a Billing Specialist within our Revenue Cycle Management (RCM) department
- Follow-up on open balances listed on monthly AR and Payer Follow-up reports
- Review and update patient demographics and payer information as necessary for completion of claims payment
- Responsible for transferring balances and submitting claims
- Generate correspondence to payers such as appeals, reconsiderations and payments
- Promptly identify any errors or other issues in claims processing
- Effectively following up on any unpaid balances
- Expeditiously bringing any remaining balance to resolution
- Meet quality assurance and productivity standards by identifying and reconciling insurance balance accounts
- Review explanations of benefits details on denials. Documentation and notate accounts on collection activity to perform account resolution
- Communicate with insurance payer representatives, patients, and other staff to ensure timely and accurate resolution of account transactions
- Be able to understand the revenue cycle process and how it relates to payers and patients

Better Health targets ostomy and urology patients, who often don’t receive enough care and support following their surgeries. It plans to further expand its model into new categories of chronic conditions and products, and expand its partnerships.
