Who you are
- This candidate should be an accountable, detail oriented leader looking to make a significant impact on Parachute’s growth and success
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field & CPA required
- Minimum 3 years public auditor experience
- 12+ years of experience in accounting/finance, with at least 3 years in a leadership role
- Inventory accounting experience is essential, preferably in consumer products industry
- Strong knowledge of NetSuite and Microsoft Excel
- Proven leadership in managing financial operations, audits, and ensuring regulatory compliance
What the job involves
- The Controller will be responsible for establishing and optimizing Parachute’s accounting infrastructure to ensure compliance, accuracy and timeliness to support and promote profitable goals and objectives
- They will be a key player in the Finance department, responsible for month end closing, inter-departmental information flow, internal and external finance reporting support and developing and complying with accounting procedures and internal controls
- Reports to: CFO
- Financial Reporting: Prepare financial statements in compliance with GAAP and company policies. Oversee financial closings and maintain accurate financial records
- Team Management: Supervise, mentor, and manage the accounting team, handling hiring, training, and performance assessments
- Accounting Operations: Oversee accounts payable, receivable, general ledger, and financial reporting
- Inventory Accounting: Manage inventory-related processes, including valuation, reconciliation, and cost analysis
- Internal Controls: Implement strong internal controls to protect company assets and ensure data accuracy
- System & Process Optimization: Improve accounting systems and processes, with a focus on using NetSuite for enhanced efficiency
- Tax & Audit Coordination: Collaborate with external auditors and tax advisors, ensuring compliance with tax regulations
- Strategic Insights: Provide financial recommendations to senior management to support business decisions and growth
