Who you are

- Excellent analytical, research, and communication skills in English; proficiency in German is a plus

What the job involves
- The Intern will support the Motive Ventures team in identifying, evaluating, and executing early-stage fintech investment opportunities across Europe and North America
- Working closely with investment professionals, the intern will assist with market research, due diligence, portfolio analysis, and pipeline management
- The internship offers exposure to the full venture investment lifecycle, from sourcing to execution, within a leading fintech-focused investment firm. This role provides an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in venture capital
- The position is based in our Berlin office, with a 6-month duration
- Conduct comprehensive market research and sector analysis to identify emerging fintech trends, themes, and investment opportunities across Europe and North America
- Support the investment team in screening, evaluating, and prioritising new opportunities, including initial outreach, analysis and presentation of key findings
- Assist in the preparation of investment material, such as internal memos, pitch decks, and summaries for discussions
- Perform financial modelling and valuation analysis to support due diligence and portfolio monitoring processes
- Collaborate with team members on due diligence workstreams, gathering and analysing data on company performance, business models, and market dynamics
- Maintain and update the investment pipeline database (Affinity), ensuring accuracy and visibility across all active and potential opportunities
- Track portfolio company performance and prepare regular portfolio updates for internal and external stakeholders
- Contribute to knowledge sharing and research projects in collaboration with colleagues
- Participate in internal meetings and brainstorming sessions, providing analytical and strategic input to the Ventures team
