Role
Who you are
- Excellent verbal, written and spoken communication in English; fluent or C1 minimum
- A professional accounting qualification (ACA, CIMA, ACCA) with a strong appetite for growth within the SaaS space
- Demonstrable experience across all areas of finance
- Working knowledge of accounting software, preferably Xero
- Highly analytical mindset and strong attention to detail
- Experienced in SaaS metrics and the computation of same
- Resourceful and innovative with a "can-do" creative attitude
- A collaborative spirit with excellent interpersonal skills, both written and verbal
- Great work ethic and an ability to thrive in a fast-paced and ever-changing startup environment
- Experience within a SaaS start-up or scale-up environment with demonstrated growth and impact is strongly preferred
- International/group accounting is a plus
What the job involves
- In this role, you will work closely with the CEO, CRO, Talent & People Manager, and other Senior Leaders on business objectives while reporting to the CFO
- Your main responsibility will be overseeing and advancing EdgeTiers' financial operations, accounting, and financial reporting
- You'll work collaboratively with cross-functional teams such as Sales, Marketing, Customer Success, and Product and Technical teams
- As a key stakeholder for EdgeTier, you'll focus on delivering innovative and continuous improvements to the systems, processes, and controls
- You'll also produce regular financial reports that management and teams can use to make informed strategic decisions
- By analyzing financial data, you'll identify risks and opportunities to help steer the business along a prudent path and create value across the organization
- Manage the day-to-day financial operations, including Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Payroll management (outsourced), expenses approval and processing, and other tasks as required
- Manage cash flow including month-end bank reconciliations and ensuring bank accounts are funded for monthly requirements and cash efficiency is maintained
- Prepare monthly management accounts with appropriate financial analysis
- Enhance financial management information (MI) and SaaS metrics to provide valuable insight to Stakeholders and Senior Management
- Establish internal controls for expense management and cost controls, with the automation, integration and optimisation of the departments' processes to improve efficiency and capacity across the board
- Collate internal financial information for external stakeholders
- Be a key contact on the annual audit, ensuring compliance across the business and the creating of relevant process changes from audit findings
- Ensure tax compliance and statutory filings for payroll and others taxes as required
- Work with the CFO to develop, analyse and review the operating Budget and improve forecasting accuracy, for strong capital efficiency and ROI, whilst building robust financial models and metrics as the company grows
- Play a key role in future fundraising and business development activities as necessary alongside the CFO
- Assist on multiple exciting projects from a financial perspective, working closely with the wider teams
Our take
Artificial intelligence and automation technology in the call centre and customer service market have seen a resurgence as of late, with companies like Five9 dominating the market. EdgeTier, however, operates a little differently in that it creates software for the customer service agent as well as for the customer.
EdgeTier has bagged clients as large as RyanAir and LoveHolidays, impressive considering its smaller size in comparison to a swathe of larger competitors. Its software surpasses mere automation and time-saving benefits, giving clients the ability to analyse real-time insights derived from customer conversational data to better their experience within the applied service. EdgeTier, then, operates as both a customer service tool and a retention tool, as its analytical capabilities help clients expand and nurture their respective client bases.
These latter services are hard to implement without the use of AI. EdgeTier believes that within a decade it will be almost impossible to operate within the call centre and customer service industry without the use of machine learning. Its 2023 Series A will go towards expanding its team over a 24-month period, having already grown by 3.5x through 2022.
