Who you are
- Extensive Python experience
- Strong background in cloud computing or related systems – AWS, Kubernetes, or GCP
- Experience working in an agile scrum environment
- Experience supporting peers and junior members of the team, taking part in pair programming, code reviews, and mentoring
- Proven ability to build robust, reliable systems while minimising technical debt as we scale solutions
- Proven ability to define and execute plans for specific features, scoping work down into actionable parts
- Experience with GitHub
- You’ll love working with technology
- You’re results driven against ambitious targets
- You’ll be an advocate of scrum ways of working with great attention to detail
- You’re comfortable with a fair bit of uncertainty, and fast change, and thrive when solving challenging problems collaboratively
- You’re self-motivated and able to research all details independently where required
- You enjoy working with key stakeholders, fully understand and can demonstrate passion for the business objectives of Dare
Desirable
- Experience with asset optimisation
- Knowledge of GB electricity markets, energy trading, or asset control experience
- Machine Learning and data background
- Experience with Go, or frontend React
What the job involves
- The Dare development team requires a strong Python programmer to work in a demanding and rewarding environment on our unique energy trading or asset optimisation platform, working closely with our development, product, and trading teams to deliver high-quality solutions where you will come on board as an experienced Software Engineer
- Develop new features for Tradr, or Asset Control platform to support Dare’s goals
- Maintaining existing codebase
- Take part in the architecture design process
- Support and mentor junior engineers in the team
- Support and participate in team Scrum meetings
