Paralegal/Contract Administrator, Shopify

• We are searching for a skilled Paralegal/Contract Administrator who has strong organizational and interpersonal skills, and experience with commercial contract drafting, review, management, and workflow optimization to join our legal team
• A Paralegal/Law Clerk Degree, or equivalent professional experience in contract administration
• Experience in contract management in-house or at a law firm
• Experience drafting NDAs and routine contracts, correspondence, and redlines
• Experience setting up new document management systems and workflows and management of contract lifecycles, including redlines, validating execution versions, and storing executed contracts
• Incredible organizational and time management skills
• This role involves handling multiple projects, initiatives, and stakeholders simultaneously, and executing to completion in a timely manner
• You must be able to prioritize well, work efficiently, and demonstrate flexibility as workloads fluctuate with minimal supervision
• Keen observation skills, a willingness to pitch in and a proactive approach to solving problems
• Meticulous attention to detail
• Exceptional oral and written and communication skills
• This means you have the ability to communicate with a wide variety of audiences about complex situations using plain language
• A solutions-oriented mindset to help support the business, take on work, and help the team
• A can-do positive attitude, with a great sense of humour, and the ability to thrive on change
• Strong interpersonal skills and a deep desire to learn continuously
• Experience working with cross functional teams from legal to sales, engineering to finance, to marketing and beyond

• This role involves dealing with a variety of internal clients and teams across several business lines, who are all moving very quickly

• Within the Shopify Legal Team, the Commercial Revenue Legal Team is focused on supporting Shopify’s revenue and sales organization
• The Commercial Revenue team targets small, medium, and enterprise merchants worldwide in connection with a number of sales product offerings, including Shopify Plus, Commerce Components by Shopify, Shopify Payments and Shopify POS
• To be successful on our team, collaboration and engagement is key
• Our team members regularly collaborate with each other and with internal stakeholders, effectively guiding business strategies and communicating legal risk
• We build trust with the internal business team, and show up for our clients both proactively, to ensure our business teams don’t run into problems, and reactively, when issues do come up
