Role
Who you are
- Themis is looking for a talented software engineer focused on UI and UX to be part of our frontend team
- We're looking for smart people who are curious, willing to learn and who can embrace a challenge
- You love writing frontend code
- You write clean code, take pride in class design and choose the right level of abstraction
- Tests are your best friend (you can't write too many!)
- You can move fast and take quick decisions
- Assume others will look at your code and document accordingly
- Assume users will do the unexpected and handle error conditions
- Act as a technology generalist, bringing our vision to life will be a challenge
- We require that you have a history of building responsive and clean user experiences in React, JavaScript, HTML and CSS
- We strongly believe in a person's ability to grow but we would like to see at least 7-10 years of professional software engineering experience
- We require you to collaborate with cross functional stakeholders so we would like to see a proven track record of collaboration with Product Managers, Designers and Backend engineers
Desirable
- Familiarity with Ruby on Rails
- Familiarity with SQL, databases like PostgreSQL and MySQL
- Experience with Agile Methodologies
- Experience building SaaS Platforms
- Start-up experience
- Bachelors or masters degree in Computer Science or a related field
What the job involves
- We are bringing to life our vision of making governance accessible and easy for everyone
- We are taking workflows typically run on spreadsheets and emails and building beautiful software to make it easier for organizations to adhere to governance requirements and regulations
- You will be architecting our customer facing portal which will be used by the largest Fintechs and financial companies in the world
- The product is receiving constant feedback from customers and we need you to design and solve customer’s needs with a sustainable React design
- Workday must overlap by at least 5 hours with New York, NY, USA
Our take
The demand for financial compliance tools has increased dramatically since the Financial Crisis. Yet, current technology offerings fail to capture the way officials dealing with this issue actually work.
In response, Themis offers pay-as-you-go compliance for banks, fintechs, and crypto startups. In particular, Themis allows compliance-focused employees to manage workflows effectively while emphasizing collaboration amongst compliance staff both within firms and between them and their partners and regulators.
The company is now focused on expanding its compliance features to focus on crypto startups. In the opinion of Themis’s leadership, there is a great deal more work to be done in this area beyond just the current focus on know-your-customer and anti-money laundering efforts.
