Who you are
- Intermediate SQL & Python/R Required
- Proven experience (2+ years) in a data analyst role, with a focus on operations research and modeling
- Experience in applied statistics and communicating results to a lay audience
- Demonstrable track record of dealing well with ambiguity, prioritizing needs, and delivering results
- Strong problem solving skills
- Must be eligible to work in the United States without sponsorship
Desirable
- Experience with machine learning algorithms
- Knowledge of Supply Chain principles
What the job involves
- EquipmentShare is searching for a Data Analyst for our corporate office in Columbia, MO, to support our Fleet Operations team as the department continues to grow. must be able to meet with management in person at least quarterly
- We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Data Analyst with a focus on Operations Research to join our fast-paced environment
- The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills, a keen eye for detail, modeling experience, and the ability to navigate ambiguity while delivering actionable insights
- As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in shaping strategic decisions through advanced modeling and analysis
- You will play a crucial role in extracting actionable insights from our data to drive informed decision-making
- This role is particularly focused on operations research themes within supply chain, modeling, and conducting comprehensive analyses to optimize our processes and enhance overall efficiency
- Apply operations research methodologies to identify opportunities for process improvement and optimization, as well as enhance operational efficiency
- Utilize statistical techniques to analyze large datasets and extract meaningful insights
- Develop and implement modeling to support business decision making based on stakeholder-driven requirements
- Identify key performance indicators (KPIs) and develop reports and dashboards to monitor and communicate business performance
- Tackle complex business challenges using data driven approaches, and be prepared to defend your opinion on recommendations
Our take
Innovation in automated equipment presents opportunities for increased efficiency for contractors, but this comes at a huge financial cost. Furthermore, whilst this equipment is often highly valuable for the completion of a contractor task, equipment may remain unused for a significant time after task completion.
EquipmentShare provides a telematics platform for contractors called ES Track, a service that facilitates the rental of under-utilized equipment. This is achieved by using the software to determine usage statistics of a piece of equipment, providing insights on financial opportunities a contractor may have in terms of equipment rental.
In addition to presenting itself as the ‘Airbnb of contract equipment’, the company presents further potential by focusing on transforming existing equipment to be fully autonomous. 2023 funding is being used to expand its reach, and in combination with providing rental insights, EquipmentShare’s approach is uniquely focused on finding money-saving opportunities for contractors.
