Who you are
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering, Business, Finance or a related field
- MBA from a top tier university is strongly preferred
- 10+ years of experience in a fast-paced environment (strategy, product or operations in related industry strongly preferred), including at least 5 years in a leadership role
- Proven ability to collaborate, motivate teams, and drive performance to achieve and exceed targets
- Strong financial acumen and understanding of financial statements, budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate data into actionable insights and support decision-making
- Demonstrated ability to contribute to the development and execution of strategic plans that drive revenue growth and improve profitability
- Results-oriented mindset with a focus on delivering measurable outcomes and driving continuous improvement
What the job involves
- As a Deputy Head of Business - Consumer, you will directly support the leader of one of Enova’s product line teams in developing strategy and managing the business day-to-day in order to deliver results and provide the best possible experience for our customers
- You’ll play a key role in budgeting and financial planning, monitoring business performance and longer-term strategic initiatives
- This role requires a high degree of collaboration with other teams and offers a path to other leadership roles at Enova
- Support the P&L Leader in developing a comprehensive product line strategy and collaborating with our marketing, operations, finance and other teams to ensure its execution
- Assist in managing the risk associated with consumer businesses, including credit underwriting, fraud prevention, and portfolio management
- Analyze market trends, customer needs, and competitor activities to identify areas for revenue growth and develop actionable plans
- Drive initiatives to foster a culture of compliance, establish clear policies and procedures, and implement effective monitoring and auditing
- Participate in financial forecasting and budgeting to ensure accurate financial planning and provide insights for strategic decision-making
- Monitor and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) for our operations team and financial metrics to track business performance, identify trends, and implement corrective actions when necessary
- Collaborate with the P&L Leader in leading and mentoring a team, providing guidance, performance feedback, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement
- Strong communication skills with the ability to present to and influence senior level stakeholders by storytelling through data that effectively communicates strategic operations solutions
Our take
Providing customers with quick access to credit is important for fintech companies to survive in today's financial landscape of open banking, but this is made difficult by high credit rejection rates from banks. However, these decisions are generally made by human assessments of data which are limited due to the complexity of the modern financial landscape. AI-driven solutions, able to analyse vast amounts of data almost instantly to derive accurate credit risk assessments, present room for improvement in the lending industry.
Enova provides a platform called Colossus that leverages AI and machine learning-enabled analytics to provide businesses and individuals with fast, reliable, and trustworthy credit. The company achieves this by partnering with banks and sharing its data analysis solutions, helping to identify opportunities for credit when they would otherwise be missed. There is definitely a market for its product: over 8 million customers have funded almost $50 billion through the platform to date.
Enova has grown strongly in recent years based on the rapid uptake of its product. As the macroeconomic climate remains volatile, businesses will increasingly come to rely on Enova's AI-based solutions to help them manage credit risk and navigate an increasingly complex lending environment.
