What the job involves

Responsible for the full development life-cycle design from project requirement to deployment
Work on automation and improvement of data exchanges and data pipelines between internal and external teams
Facilitate the definition of project scope, deliverables, and goals
Write, test, and deploy efficient, scalable code to production that impacts millions of individuals
Lead cross-functional delivery teams to ensure deliverables are met
Track project performance against defined milestones/goals
Conduct process improvement projects to increase performance in vital program metrics
Communicate ongoing project health with key stakeholders and business leadership
Maintain strict compliance with established project management policies and guidelines
Make significant contributions to the code base
Define best practices and uphold coding standards
Develop and apply advanced technologies, engineering principles, theories, and concepts
Work within the Engineering team to develop features that specifically benefit users
Deliver high-quality code on schedule, communicate with groups in and outside the development team

In essence, the 2001-founded company provides some of the world’s leading fintechs (including the aforementioned Monzo and Wise), with the software and infrastructure they need to issue cards, process payments, and build innovative digital banking products.

The Fintech industry as a whole sat up and took notice when SoFi acquired Galileo for $1.2 billion in 2020, a year before going public. However, it's worth noting that since then, Galileo has continued operating as an independent subsidiary.
