Who you are
- Professional accounting qualification, ACA or overseas equivalent (2-3 years PQE)
- Experience of complex consolidations in a multinational company environment
- Deep familiarity with external reporting
- Experience leading teams in a fast paced, deadline driven environment
- Ability to see the “big picture” but possesses the skills to get involved in the details of accounts and analysis where necessary
- Strong analytical and technical accounting skills
- In-depth knowledge of IFRS and UK GAAP, which can be demonstrated through previous projects and activities completed. US GAAP / SoX experience is preferrable, but not required Good technology skills and familiarity with consolidation systems eg. SAP BPC, Cognos, Oracle Hyperion and ideally familiarity with SAP financial systems and Adpative Insights

What the job involves
- The successful candidate will be a manager reporting into a Senior Manager in the Group Reporting Team and take primary responsibility for the monthly consolidation of the Group’s financial results as well as the preparation of the Group’s quarterly reported financial statements
- The successful candidate is also expected to be the Group’s “expert” on IFRS and other reporting requirements and manage the Group’s internal accounting policies
- The role works closely with the Group Finance Operations Team, the Group FP&A Director, the head of Tax and Treasury, Group Company Secretary as well as the business unit Finance VPs and the company’s auditors Deloitte
- The role also has significant exposure to the Group CFO particularly in the area of accounting policy where the successful candidate is expected to take a commercial approach to the interpretation and implementation of policy
- Owning the process for consolidating operating entity results and preparing monthly, consolidated income statement, balance sheet and cash flows
- Owning the accounting of “group” items – including share based payments, hedge accounting, pensions, impairment etc
- Owning the accounting for head office legal entities, including accounting for internal and external funding and other treasury items
- Owning the quarterly reporting process from end to end which includes supporting the reporting of the Group’s results to the parent company in the U.S
- Owning various statistical returns for government agencies from around the world
- Liaising closely with the Group’s auditors on the preparation and audit of the Group and subsidiary accounts
- Own the Group Accounting Policy Manual including monitoring and researching evolving accounting requirements, proactively identifying and recommending how they should be managed
- Liaise very closely with the Finance Operations Accounting Team to drive efficiency and effectiveness in the end-to-end financial reporting process including the efficient implementation of Group Accounting Policy
- Provide expert guidance to the business on technical accounting matters preparing accounting treatment papers and providing technical accounting advice to the business on an ad hoc basis. This should all be executed in close liaison with the external auditors to ensure ongoing alignment around key accounting issues
