What the job involves
- The City Success team is directly responsible to help Lime win, retain and expand markets globally which puts the team in a very critical space which can revolutionize the urban commute
- We innovate on behalf of the cities and its people, with end to end tech features which help Lime and riders scale globally, making urban commute eco friendly and sustainable, while being safe and fun
- The team will directly impact how people commute 5 years from now, making this a critical position in a unique team
- The ideal candidate will have experience working in an evolving startup environment
- You will be an in the moment problem solver with the ability to think about the short term and long term plan
- You're energized about building and scaling and being part of a forward-thinking organization
- Identify, define, and solve strategically essential technical problems, including architecting and building highly scalable foundational platforms, leading new product initiatives, and revamping core application experiences
- Involve in the cross-functional collaboration with PMs, Engineers, Design, Data Scientists, Research, and Operations teams
- Design and build scalable solutions to handle the problems facing micro-mobility tomorrow by collaborating with mobile developers
- Design and build high quality solutions to enable cities to have a good experience with Lime and for Lime and riders to have a safe experience with cities
- Participate, Ideate, develop and shape the future of micro-mobility as we and our industry ventures into new markets and city regulations
Our take
In recent years, electric-powered mobility companies have attracted an extraordinary amount of interest and funding, in part due to rising eco-friendly sentiment, and in part because of the race to "find the next Uber". Lime is one such company, that has rapidly scaled across multiple geographies to be a key player in the fight for market leadership.
Lime, along with its competitors, has had to grapple with regulation in many of its target markets, but nonetheless has steadily increased its footprint. Since its launch, the company has facilitated millions of trips, making it one of the biggest companies of its kind. Interestingly, the CEO has stated that "cars are our true business rivals—not other scooter companies", suggesting that its biggest business challenge will be to get families to give up their second cars.
With a presence that spans an impressive number of regions - most recently Lime has begun operating in Qatar - the company has cemented itself in the micromobility market, and stands to profit from the increasing popularity of these types of services. Across 2022, a substantial increase in ridership enabled Lime to achieve a "full profitable year", with suggestions it will pursue an IPO in the near future.
