Who you are
- Proven extensive experience in media planning, ideally in a global or multi-market role
- Strong expertise across a range of media channels, including TV, OOH, Radio, and Podcast
- Experience working with media agencies and local market teams to develop and execute campaigns
- An analytical mindset with direct experience in econometrics, measurement, and campaign effectiveness analysis
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders across different markets
- Ability to manage multiple projects in a scale-up environment
- Comfortable with the ambiguity of a scale-up environment

- Experience both brand side and in agencies

What the job involves
- We’re looking for a Senior Media Planner to join our Acquisition Marketing team on a 3 month FTC, with the potential to transition to a permanent role
- You will be responsible for global media planning, with a focus on the US, Canada, UK&I, France and Australia
- We’re a global team looking after brand and product marketing, acquisition and retention marketing, communications and creative, with multi-disciplinary marketing teams in key regions – the USA, UK, France and Australia. We work closely with teams across the business, particularly commercial, product, tech and content teams
- The Acquisition Marketing team is focused on driving sustainable new customer growth. We work alongside in-market teams to ensure strategies are effectively and efficiently executed
- Lead the development of global media plans in collaboration with local market teams and external agencies
- Alongside Head of Acquisition Marketing, oversee annual and quarterly media planning across all channels, ensuring strategic alignment with business objectives
- Partner with local market teams to plan and buy non-performance media, including OOH, TV, Podcast, Radio, and other relevant channels
- Work closely with media agencies to optimize media spend and campaign performance
- Manage econometrics and measurement, ensuring robust evaluation frameworks are in place to assess media effectiveness
- Analyze market trends, audience insights, and campaign performance data to inform future media strategies
- Collaborate cross-functionally with internal teams, including performance, brand, data and local market teams
- Stay ahead of industry trends and best practices to continuously refine Yoto’s media planning approach

Our take
A key development in the last 5 years has been a move towards screen-based kids entertainment like apps and streaming services. However, more recently there have been concerns that excessive screen time for children can be damaging to health and development. So, many consumers are looking for alternative products which will expose children to modernity without the drawbacks of many modern devices. This is the demand which Yoto is setting out to capitalise on.
Yoto's product - a screen-free audio platform - enables children to access features such as audiobooks, podcasts, and soundscapes via physical cards inserted into the device. The Yoto Player has received considerable early praise from consumers and from investors also, who granted Yoto considerable funding.
Perhaps the most difficult challenge for a business operating in the highly competitive children's toys market is keeping its product current. However, Yoto's software is fully customisable, meaning that alongside its library of content, parents can add their own audio files to the device to suit the interests of their children. This imbibes Yoto with a customisability that gives it an edge, especially as children's tastes change with age.
