Who you are
- Demonstrated experience leading a distributed team of engineers in a fast-paced, agile environment
- Experience hiring, training, and mentoring high performing System Test engineers
- Hands-on experience establishing testing strategy and defining quality metrics for products that will be deployed in both SaaS as well as customer managed environments
- Experience in testing high performance, scalable distributed systems; ability to analyze and scope technical requirements, and effectively prioritize deliverables
- BS CS/EE or equivalent practical experience with 10+ years of industry experience, including 4+ years in a technical leadership role
What the job involves
- We are looking for an Engineering Manager to lead the System Test team at Cribl
- Your primary role is to help your team reach its maximum potential through mentorship and project direction
- This is a hands-on leadership role where you will balance responsibilities that span people management while staying closely involved in the technical details of how to test our products simulating real-world use cases
- Coach, mentor and grow a cross functional, remote-first team of exceptional quality system test engineers for all Cribl products
- Establish testing best practices and be the product owner for how we test for real-world customer scenarios and complex deployments
- Lead the team in implementing projects from idea formulation, design, implementation, and testing
- Foster a "customer first" mindset by aligning the team toward outcomes that will delight our customers - both internal and external
- Establish a strong partnership with product management and engineering managers to refine, prioritize and execute on a roadmap that ensures quality and performance standards are met

In a bid to simplify big data analytics, Cribl offers a data observability pipeline which allows users to reduce low value data, improve routing and gain more data context on one interface.
As companies now collect more and more data from frequently scattered sources, its useability and reliability comes into question. By offering an observability service, Cribl allows users to maintain the health of their data systems by monitoring, tracking and troubleshooting issues.
Cribl's main challenge will be competing with the likes of Observe and Edge Delta. However, Cribl has raised impressive funds that should accelerate its transition from a limited tool vendor to a fully-fledged observability suite. The company also boasts surpassing $100 million in annual recurring revenue, having grown this from $1 million in less than four years.
