Who you are
- Demonstrated success bringing AI and ML based products and features to market
- Experience in assessing opportunity size for AI products that incorporate generative and predictive AI technologies
- Experience assessing AI metrics and business impact of AI products
- 8 years plus experience in product management
- Product development with a focus on AI solutions
- Good understanding of the LLM space and other NLP (bert models, transformers) concepts
- Familiarity with machine learning frameworks and tools relevant to legal applications
- Successful track record of leading cross-functional teams in an agile environment
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with legal professionals

- Strong understanding of legal tech trends, compliance standards, and industry regulations
- Ability to bridge the gap between legal requirements and technological solutions
What the job involves
- This role is instrumental in driving the development of innovative solutions that harness the power of generative and predictive AI and machine learning
- This role can be performed from one of our Canadian offices, or remotely from the US or Canada or a combination of both. Some exceptions may apply
- As the Group Product Manager for AI products at Clio, you will spearhead the visioning, strategic planning and roadmap execution of AI solutions that address the unique needs of law firms
- You will guide the development of products that enhance efficiency, accuracy, and decision-making within legal practices
- Product Leadership & Collaboration:
- Develop and execute a comprehensive product vision and strategy for AI solutions tailored to the legal industry
- Collaborate closely with legal experts, technology teams, and stakeholders to align product development with the specific needs of law firms
- Partner closely with engineering leadership on crafting and executing the AI vision, strategy and roadmap
- Product Development:
- Lead the ideation, design, and implementation of AI products, incorporating generative and predictive AI technologies to address legal challenges
- Define product requirements based on legal industry trends, compliance standards, and client feedback
- Clear articulation of various monetization strategies with roadmap execution to increase revenue from AI products
- Team Leadership:
- Build and lead a high-performing team of product managers with a focus on AI solutions for law firms
- Foster a collaborative culture that encourages innovation and a deep understanding of the legal domain
- Market Analysis:
- Stay informed about advancements in generative and predictive AI, machine learning, and legal tech
- Conduct market research to identify opportunities and challenges unique to the legal industry
Our take
Modern law firms increasingly manage their work digitally but the lack of a specialised remote solution means that workflows have become fragmented. This leads to legal practice managers having to juggle multiple software solutions across various devices.
Clio provides a legal practice management platform designed for law firms, allowing users to manage billing for legal aid cases, access and manage documents and store files across multiple devices. Whilst other startups are operating in this niche, Clio has uniquely focussed on synchronisation across remote devices and on a wide range of integrations, allowing the user to access information from other industry standard software such as Xero and Klyant from within a single interface.
Clio has raised a large amount of investment capital and benefited from the COVID-era move to cloud technologies. Most recently, it raised a 2024 Series F round, which saw the company attain a valuation exceeding $3 billion. This funding is being used to accelerate AI development and to allow existing investors and employees to cash out their shares.
