Senior Mechanical Engineer, ICON

• BS or MS in Mechanical Engineering
• 12+ years of professional work experience as a Mechanical Engineer
• Demonstrated knowledge of component manufacturing processes (including machining, rapid prototyping, etc.)
• Demonstrated experience leading large system development projects
• Proficiency using parametric solid modeling and CAD software to design and document parts and assemblies
• SolidWorks and PDM experience required
• Familiarity with making drawings and applicable drawing and tolerancing standards
• Exceptional technical and problem-solving skills and reasoning ability
• Adept at communicating in a collaborative team environment and seeking optimum solutions with other team members
• Knowledge of the AGILE SCRUM methodology of project management
• A service-oriented attitude when in a support role
• Ability to prioritize and stay cool in a dynamic start-up environment
• Strong verbal and written communications skills
• Must be able to lift 50 pounds
• Must be prepared to work, in part, in extreme environments: temps > 100 degrees or below freezing, sun, rain, mud, lack of electricity, etc
• Must be able to travel 4+ weeks per year internationally

• ICON is looking for a Senior Mechanical Engineer I to help in the development of ICON’s latest print systems on the Vulcan Team
• This team is responsible for maintaining and upgrading the Vulcan printer
• As a Senior Mechanical Engineer at ICON, you will be in a hands-on development and technical design role with responsibility for the creation and support of well-designed, maintainable mechanical systems
• Create design solutions with excellent engineering and documentation processes
• Design and create prototypes using in-house and external fabrication
• Perform engineering calculations to support design work
• Own development of systems through to handoff for product commercialization
• Drive engineering excellence and the adherence to the scientific method
• Compile and analyze operational, test, and research data to establish technical specifications for designing or modifying products, processes, and materials
• Must be willing to perform a wide range of tasks on a daily basis (e.g. Transition from office work to field work at a moment’s notice)
