Who you are
- 5+ years of experience across growth, digital experience, lead generation, funnel optimization, product growth, CRO, UX, or a related field
- Experience owning high-volume lead-gen, application, onboarding, registration, or other multi-step conversion experiences
- A track record of materially improving or redesigning funnels, not just optimizing individual elements
- Strong landing page and funnel-building experience, including hands-on experience with CMS, experimentation, or no-code/low-code tools
- Strong understanding of conversion psychology and what motivates users to take the next step
- Excellent design taste with strong mobile UX instincts
- Ability to combine quantitative data, qualitative insight, and judgment to develop solutions
- Comfortable starting with an ambiguous problem and figuring out what should be built
- Bias toward action and the ability to ship without needing a large team or perfectly defined requirements
- Strong cross-functional partner who can work across Growth Marketing, Lifecycle, Content, Product, Design, Analytics, and Engineering
- Experience using AI and emerging tools to research, ideate, build, and iterate faster
What the job involves
- We’re looking for a Director of Growth Experience to own and improve the digital experiences that move students from interest on a landing page through enrollment and product onboarding
- This is not a traditional CRO role focused on maintaining a testing roadmap or making incremental page optimizations. We’re looking for a creative problem solver and hands-on builder who can take an ambiguous conversion problem, figure out what’s getting in the way, develop a better web experience, and get it live
- You’ll own our landing pages and play a key role in our application, onboarding, and registration experiences, partnering closely with Growth Marketing, Lifecycle, Content, Product, and Tech
- Our funnel is complex. We partner with 100+ universities, students enter from different channels and with different levels of intent, and becoming a lead is only the beginning. The right person will be excited by that complexity and constantly looking for ways to make the student journey simpler and more effective
- Own our conversion experiences: Lead the strategy, build, and ongoing optimization of landing pages, forms, and key student onboarding experiences
- Diagnose funnel problems: Use performance data, behavioral insights, and student feedback to understand where students are getting stuck in our application process and, more importantly, why
- Turn growth opportunities into experiences: Partner with Growth Marketing to create purpose-built experiences for different audiences, channels, campaigns, and moments in the funnel
- Think beyond incremental CRO: Know when to optimize an existing experience and when the better answer is a new page, flow, concept, or approach altogether
- Get hands-on: Build and modify experiences, create new pathways, configure experiments, QA launches, and work directly in our tools rather than stopping at recommendations
- Bring strong design judgment: Create mobile-first experiences that are clear, intuitive, persuasive, and visually strong. Partner with design resources when needed, but have a strong point of view yourself
- Experiment with purpose: Develop hypotheses and run meaningful tests when they help us make better decisions, while recognizing that not every improvement needs to become an A/B test
- Move quickly: Help us shorten the path from problem → idea → build → launch → learn → iterate
- What Success Looks Like:
- Success in this role isn’t measured by the number of tests launched, it’s measured by whether the experiences you own perform incrementally better
- You’ll help us turn more student interest into action, materially improve the parts of our journey holding conversion back, and build a faster, smarter way to identify opportunities, ship better experiences, and learn what works
