Experience with JavaScript, DOM and CSS or with Java

What the job involves

Write elegant and efficient code across our codebase that powers our application
At the frontend, collaborate with our designers and implement their novel solutions to data transformation problems
At the backend, write code that compiles and executes users' scripts against a variety of storage systems and execution layers
In between, build the platform that facilitates working with data
Collaborate closely with other engineers and become a valued member of a cross-functional team in our office in Berlin, Germany

The rise of digital services has led to vast sets of data that can be used by businesses to gain valuable, or even crucial insights about their customers. However, many companies are ill-equipped for interpreting and handling this data.

Trifacta is a cloud-based data engineering platform that leverages machine learning to drive insights from large datasets, reducing businesses' reliance on data science teams. It's a crowded space, with firms like GoodData, Looker, Sisense providing similar solutions to interpreting unstructured data.

But Trifacta is well-placed to tap into an estimated $210 billion industry. They're already serving global enterprises like Spar, Autodesk, Bank of America and Pepsico with their self service tools, and recent funding has enabled them to expand their footprint into new international markets.

Having taken a PhD at UCb, Jeffrey spent almost 5 years as a Stanford Assistant Professor, before moving to the University of Washington in September 2013 and co-founding Trifacta.
