Who you are
- A Degree in Computer Science, or similar
- 3+ years experience as a Backend Engineer with strong architectural design skills (we are hiring both mid and senior level in London)
- Experience with functional programming. Familiarity with Elixir is a plus, but other languages like Scala, GoLang, Node.js, Haskell, Clojure, and F# are also great
- Infrastructure management experience at scale; you should be comfortable in using AWS and terraform
- Proficiency in queue management and observability
- Experience with orchestration tools like Docker
- Knowledge of GenAI and prompt engineering is a plus
- You thrive most during the initial years of a company's inception, particularly relishing the dynamics of small team environments
- Customer-centricity is paramount. Engineers are integral to every stage of the delivery process, necessitating a strong product focus. We value individuals who are passionate about their craft and are equally invested in addressing product and technical challenges
- Fluent in english
What the job involves
- Software Engineers at V7 ensure that complex operations involving – think applying foundation models like Gemini Pro to enable complex analyses across large financial documents - are performed reliably and efficiently at scale
- The Backend Engineer role holds significant influence, shaping the trajectory of the company's future in close collaboration with the Founders
- Enable foundation models to be applied to multimodal data at scale
- Scale our platform to meet challenging multi tenant usage patterns
- Maintain a rich suite of APIs to power all our internal and B2B clients
- Ship to production multiple times a day, working in tandem with PMs/Designers to solve user problems
- Our BE is in Elixir (Erlang) with Phoenix, and FE is Vue.js. Our deep learning framework of choice is Pytorch. We don't expect you to know Pytorch. If you don't know Elixir, that's ok, but you'll have to learn it. (some of our team members had no Elixir experienced when they started and had no problem learning it)

V7 Labs is a computer vision platform that helps AI teams develop vision-based models that are learning continuously from training data with minimal human supervision.
V7 distinguishes itself in the market by condensing the most effective tools for organizing datasets into a single SaaS platform. The company says that using only 100 human-annotated examples in its toolkit can label the rest of the training data autonomously. Although its main business specialisations are in medicine and health sciences, its product is being picked up by tech companies in other sectors, and it now counts more than 300 customers including Siemens and GE Healthcare.
The startup has recently raised funding in a Series A round led by Radical Ventures and Temasek. It will use this investment to hire more engineering and sales talent, develop its product, and expand its market share.
