Who you are
- We’re looking for a proactive, detail-oriented, and systems-savvy Senior Accountant to join our lean but high-impact Accounting team
- This position is a great fit for someone who thrives in high-growth environments, enjoys solving complex blockchain related problems, and fully understands foundational accounting processes while helping us build for scale
- We’re looking for someone with a strong grasp of US GAAP, experience with accounting systems and integrations (such as QuickBooks, Stripe, Ramp), and a mindset focused on automation, documentation, and continuous improvement
- 6 years of progressive accounting experience, including time in fast-paced, high-growth SaaS, or tech environments
- Strong understanding of US GAAP, with hands-on experience managing general ledger and close processes
- Ensure compliance with ASC 606 across subscription, usage based, credit, and refund models
- Understand SaaS KPIs such as MRR/ARR, CAC, LTV, NDR, and Churn
- Take ownership, communicate clearly, and bring a roll-up-your-sleeves attitude to problem solving and cross-functional collaboration
- Proficiency with accounting systems like QuickBooks, and finance tools like Ramp, Deel, and Stripe
- Experience managing or supporting multi-entity accounting, international operations, or tax compliance a plus
- 2 years in public accounting, CPA is a plus
- Experience working in a fast-paced startup or global remote environment is a plus

What the job involves
- You’ll help scale our core accounting operations, take ownership of the month-end close for a multi-entity organization, and support key processes across compliance, payroll, and financial reporting
- Lead and manage our month-end close process, including preparation of journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules for areas like accruals, prepaids, fixed assets, and reclasses
- Support financial reporting across multiple entities, including consolidation, monthly close packages, variance analysis, investor reporting, and audit preparation
- Assist with tax requests from our outside tax firm
- Drive improvements in accounting systems and integrations
- Assist with technical accounting research and process documentation, to include ASC 606 revenue recognition and ASC 842 lease accounting
- Aid in strategic projects, such as post-merger balance sheet and multi-entity consolidations, and ERP readiness initiatives
- Partner cross-functionally with internal stakeholders to improve billing operations and customer balance workflows
- Calculate the financial impact of Blockchain transactions within the General Ledger
Our take
The Ethereum blockchain has seen a surge in activity over the past year or so - but, much to users' frustration, its transaction volume has failed to scale accordingly, leading to hefty gas fees and slow transaction times. Offchain Labs is one of a few players developing Layer 2 rollup solutions, and its Arbitrum rollup has gathered substantial momentum and support in a relatively short time.
Offchain Labs’ Arbitrum claims to offer all the benefits of a rollup - less costly, more efficient - without compromising on security. It is, at the time of writing, the only scaling solution for Ethereum that has working fraud proofs, and at the end of 2021 was dominating the layer 2 rollup market share.
This kind of high-profile and superior efficacy determines a successful blockchain technology. With Offchain Labs’ leadership pedigree and its string of acquisitions, it’s no surprise the company is leading rollup innovation efforts. This sector, however, moves at lightning speed—and the competing ZK rollups are by no means out of the picture just yet.
