Role
Who you are
- Have 7+ years of hands-on experience in analytics engineering or related data roles – You have deep experience building and maintaining scalable, reliable data models and infrastructure, ideally in a modern data stack environment
- Have strong experience managing/leading the following disciplines:
- SQL/Python
- Data modeling
- ETL/ELT
- Cloud Warehouses
- Are tech-savvy and systems-oriented – You’re comfortable writing per working with dbt and tools like Snowflake and Tableau, and you’ve helped shape scalable workflows that balance speed and governance
- Have a track record of building and scaling data foundations – You’ve led the implementation of high quality data models, data testing frameworks, dashboards, and documentation standards that enable trust and reusability
- Have strong communication and project management skills – You can distill technical topics for non-technical audiences and drive adoption of data best practices across teams. You work seamlessly with stakeholders across a variety of teams as well to deliver impactful solutions
- Thrive collaborating with other data team members and non-technical stakeholders in a fast-paced and sometimes ambiguous environment, solving complex and nuanced problems
- Stay curious and open to growth — actively building fluency in emerging technologies like AI to unlock creativity, accelerate progress, and amplify impact
What the job involves
- We’re looking for a Staff Analytics Engineer to help in shaping the data infrastructure, modeling, and analytics capabilities of Webflow. You will be responsible for designing scalable data solutions and ensuring high-quality data availability for analytics and decision-making
- This role bridges the gap between data engineering and insights, enabling data-driven strategies across the company
- You will be joining a results oriented, collaborative team with an established, shared understanding of our business logic, a modern data stack and lots of opportunity to extend the function to build new data analytics frameworks and establish best practices
- You’ll work closely with both technical and non-technical stakeholders to transform our data in ways that improve the flexibility and repeatability of analysis. You'll also partner on metric definitions and governance, and help teams understand and improve our user experience through data
- You’ll bring your expertise to improve our current processes and promote a shared language across our growing data functions at Webflow, thoughtfully developing Webflow’s data maturity for lasting impact
- Reporting to the Senior Manager, Data Analytics
- Design and build scalable, reliable, and well-documented data models and pipelines that form the foundation of the analytics stack and support cross-functional business needs
- Act as a strategic partner to cross-functional teams by deeply understanding business domains, fostering collaboration, and driving a culture of curiosity and continuous improvement through data
- Lead the evolution of our data warehouse architecture, analytics engineering workflows, and BI layer—contributing to the development of intuitive dashboards and self-serve tools that empower data-informed decision-making
- Collaborate closely with data analysts, data scientists, and data engineers to define and maintain trusted metrics, ensure data quality, and improve usability and accessibility of core data assets
- Drive best practices in metric development, testing frameworks, lineage tracking, and documentation standards using tools such as dbt, Snowflake, and Tableau
- Serve as a subject matter expert and thought partner in strategic, cross-functional initiatives—applying systems thinking and deep technical expertise to improve data flows and inform high-impact decisions
- In addition to the responsibilities outlined above, at Webflow we will support you in identifying where your interests and development opportunities lie and we'll help you incorporate them into your role
Our take
No-code development systems allow users to create and publish the kind of output that was once only possible with the help of a team of developers. Webflow is one such platform that allows non-developers to create professional websites without knowing any code. It joins others such as Pantheon, Weebly, Squarespace, and Wix in a hotly-contested low-code development market. While competition is high, so too is demand, with low-code platforms accounting for more than 65% of application development activity in 2024.
The popularity of platforms such as Webflow is perhaps not surprising, as low-code development is usually cheaper for companies to implement and reduces time to market. Webflow has been used by over 3.5 million designers and teams to create sites for companies including enterprise brands such as Dell, Rakuten, UpWork, and Petal. It raised a large amount of funding in a Series C round in 2022. This is being used to further develop its platform, with a longer-term goal of pivoting to providing a no-code tool not only for websites, but software development as well.
