Who you are
- We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Accounts Receivable Supervisor to join our finance team at Resident
- This role is ideal for someone with a solid accounting foundation, strong leadership capabilities, and a thorough understanding of billing and collections processes
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field
- 3-5 years of experience in accounts receivable, collections, or general accounting
- Superior spreadsheet skills and a working knowledge of Microsoft Excel
- Experience with Oracle NetSuite a plus, but not required
- Self-starter with a proven track record of multi-tasking abilities
- Expertise with various types of accounting software platforms
- Ability to analyze financial data and provide insights and recommendations
- Proven experience leading and managing a team
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
What the job involves
- As the Accounts Receivable Supervisor, you will be responsible for leading the day-to-day operations of the accounts receivable function. This includes managing a team, overseeing aging reports, resolving billing discrepancies, and driving process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy
- Your work will play a critical role in optimizing cash flow and maintaining strong customer relationships
- This position reports directly to the Senior Manager, Revenue and offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to a fast-paced, growing organization
- Supervise daily operations of the accounts receivable team
- Monitor and manage aging reports to ensure timely collections
- Resolve billing discrepancies and customer payment issues
- Develop and implement process improvements for AR functions
- Prepare and analyze accounts receivable reports for senior level management
- Ensure compliance with accounting policies and procedures
- Partner with sales and customer service teams on billing matters
- Maintain accurate records of all receivable transactions
- Assist with and complete month-end and year-end closing processes

When somebody purchases a new home, they will have to browse across a vast range of retailers to prepare their house for comfortable living. This will often start with essentials such as bedding, but upon purchase, the customer will move on to focus on furnishing a different area of their property.
Resident provides a marketplace for the purchase of digitally native mattress brands in addition to other home products. For example, upon purchasing a mattress from the company, data is collected from the transaction and applied to recommend additional home products with a focus on premium quality and value.
The company has taken a unique approach to home product sales by focusing its brand on a specific product, which it can then use to gain insights into a customer and thus recommend other products. Its acquisition by Ashley Home provides Resident with ample opportunity to grow upon this idea, fostering expansion in its direct-to-consumer and wholesale businesses.
