Who you are
- 7+ years of product management experience, ideally in growth specific environments
- A track record of executing growth initiatives and driving key growth metrics (activation, retention, monetization, churn)
- An analytical mindset and past experience in using data to inform decisions and measure success
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills – you’ll be collaborating daily with designers, engineers,growth marketers, and product peers
- Experience setting ambitious goals and delivering to them in a fast-changing environment, and learning + iterating quickly if the results aren’t as expected
- A growth mindset: Always looking to test, iterate and learn and set the bar high for how we operate
What the job involves
- You’ll be joining our Product Growth team as a Senior Product Manager responsible for improving our self-serve customer journey from signup to purchase and long-term retention and expansion
- You’ll play a critical role in building and executing strategies to accelerate activation, retention and monetization
- You’ll be part of a cross-functional team of growth professionals who own our self-serve Plus business
- We expect this business to contribute to 15% of Net ARR next year and we need your skills and passion to get us there
- Identify new bets and tactics to improve our funnel metrics and create and execute on a compelling roadmap collaborating closely with design and engineering
- Be accountable for one or more critical metrics and be responsible for improving those metrics QoQ
- Spend time with users and in the data (we use Amplitude, of course) to understand our users deeply, where they get stuck, where they find value, why they buy and why they churn from our Free and self-serve Plus plans
- Collaborate closely with other product teams to improve new features and product adoption – finding opportunities to grow Plus across the entire product surface area
- Work closely with our Growth Marketing team on opportunities that span across in and out of product experiences
- Design, execute, and analyze experiments to optimize key growth metrics like our activation rate, engagement rate and free-to-paid conversion
- Become a thought leader for Growth and PLG, driving best practices both internally and with our customers
- We believe you don’t build what the customer wants, but what the customer wants to become. To create that future, you first have to be an expert in the problem. You interact with customers directly - proxies don’t work - so you always gather first-hand feedback. If you don’t define the problem correctly, everything else is useless
- We believe teams closest to the problem are best suited to make the hard decisions quickly. We don’t institute stage gates for a reason - you are given autonomy to ensure we are always progressing forward
- However, no individual alone is responsible for making every decision. To be a leader means regularly seeking out the opinions of others and giving everyone a stake in the outcome
- We believe it is our responsibility to motivate through memorable stories that build a deep understanding of our users' experience. You should tell stories to communicate strategy and inspire the outcomes we want to create for our customers
- Building a product is about envisioning some future state, and stories can help people relate to where we are and where we are going
- We believe that rapid iteration is the #1 indicator of success. You strive for a 10x vision, but you get there through 0.1 iterations. To continuously learn, you have to co-develop with customers
- It may be faster to build behind closed doors, but by testing “skateboards” you can learn if you’re on the right path and gain the confidence needed to build a world-class experience

Amplitude provides product analytics to help companies understand user behaviour. Product, marketing, and growth teams use Amplitude to discover and share insights about user engagement, retention, and revenue.
Amplitude’s user flows reveal which actions are the most commonly taken after users sign up, and which usually precede purchases made in-app, creating paths through the app. The behaviour of individual app users can be viewed with unlimited real-time activity feeds and user timelines.
Thousands of companies use Amplitude analytics including Microsoft, Under Armour, Intuit, Twitter, Bonobos, Peloton, and many more. In 2024, a securities fraud case was filed against Amplitude due to an IPO and stock share rise that was alleged to be artificially inflated before their downturn in 2022. Whilst this case is ongoing, Amplitude is still releasing new products and operating at full capacity.
