What the job involves
- The identifeye HEALTH Internship Program provides an opportunity for students and early career professionals to gain valuable industry experience, allowing them to develop technical skills, hone professional etiquette, learn from industry leaders, identify potential career paths and apply their academic knowledge
- As a People Ops/HR Intern, you will partner closely with the identifeye HEALTH People Operations team to support our organization as we execute on our mission to democratize healthcare
- Have the opportunity to make a true impact on critical projects within identifeye, while expanding your knowledge and developing the skills necessary to be a successful HR professional
- The People Ops/HR Intern will work cross functionally with industry leaders to learn more about how the People Operations function supports team members in being their best and contributing their best work
- Support and drive strategic People Ops initiatives related to organizational development, compliance and talent management
- Conduct research and data analysis to evaluate identifeye’s HR vendors - assessing cost, business need, performance and ROI. Benchmark current vendors against competing services
- Drive enhancement of identifeye’s onboarding and orientation programs
- Draft, update and organize HR documentation including but not limited to; job descriptions, company policies, agreements and other compliance documents
- Support identifeye’s initiatives related to team member engagement and learning and development
- Provide support for day-to-day HR activities
- Internship roles are temporary, and will run for approximately 12 weeks. This role is based around a full-time schedule of 40 hours/week. Start and end dates can be flexible
Our take
Identifeye HEALTH (formerly Tesseract) is attempting to massively disrupt the health prediction and diagnostics field through AI-powered retinal scanning technology, which until now has mostly been based on blood sampling.
The company points out that the retina is the only place where arteries, veins, capillaries, and nerves can be seen directly – something which it claims can be leveraged to recognize signs of a range of diseases such as Alzheimer’s, Parkinsons, anemia and heart disease. Indeed, there’s been a considerable amount of research done in the last few years which back these claims up.
Though not yet available on the US market, the fact that Identifeye's latest fundraise was oversubscribed highlights the excitement surrounding the company. This is no doubt helped by its founder Dr. Jonathan Rothberg, a serial health tech entrepreneur and winner of the National Medal of Technology and Innovation in 2015.
There are still plenty of obstacles to overcome as Identifeye seeks FDA approval and international clearance, but this is an extremely innovative company with huge potential.
