Role
Who you are
- We’re looking for a Product Designer to join our growing team (based in downtown Toronto but also open to remote candidates) : someone with skill and passion in both UX and UI
- The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for detail and user experience design best practices, while being able to translate high-level requirements into clean and functional user interfaces through our design system
- They will be highly collaborative and a great problem solver
- 3+ years of product design experience with a strong portfolio showcasing responsive designs for web and mobile platforms
- Proven experience in leading end to end design process: user research, collaborative ideation, prototyping, UX/UI design and usability testing
- Experience in leading cross-functional team workshops with strong facilitation and communication skills
- Ability to leverage both quantitative and qualitative data to validate design decisions
- Strong UI design skills with excellent attention to details
- Proficiency in Figma
- Strong time management and organization skills. Ability to effectively prioritize and handle multiple assignments under tight deadlines
- Familiarity with agile development processes and management tools like Jira and Confluence
- Basic understanding of front-end development (HTML, CSS, and Javascript) is a bonus but not required
- Post-secondary degree, diploma or certificate in UX Design or a related field

- Get S##T Done: Your bias is towards action. This means pitching in and rallying to get things across the finish line. Rather than putting off work, ask yourself what you can do today to move the needle on a project or goal
- Digs Deep: You aren't afraid to ask questions because you want to understand every issue so that you can properly solve the root cause of the problem instead of just completing the task you are given
What the job involves
- Lead end-to-end design process from research and ideation to prototyping and final delivery
- Create user flows, wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity designs that align with business objectives and user needs
- Conduct user research, usability testing, and data analysis to gather insights and validate design decisions
- Partner with PMs and analytics team to utilize quantitative data to inform design decisions and measure the impact of design changes
- Support other design tasks as needed from the content or partnership team
- Facilitate workshops with business stakeholders to gather requirements, align on goals, and brainstorm solutions
- Communicate design concepts and rationale clearly and persuasively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Advocate for user-centered design decisions and and collaborate with cross-functional teams to iterate on designs based on user feedback and business requirements
- Develop and maintain design systems and style guides to ensure consistency across all products
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends, tools, and best practices to continuously improve design processes and methodologies

Consumer activity has continued to shift from in person to online in all categories, and RateHub recognised a need to make financial products accessible online too.
RateHub allows users to compare prices and rates on financial products like mortgages, credit cards and insurance. With more than 2 million monthly users, RateHub have launched their own in-house brokerage to aid with their mission to help Canadians make better financial decisions.
Despite FinTech being a busy space, RateHub reached a milestone of closing $10 billion in funded mortgages in October 2021. Since then, it has received significant investment that will allow it to continue building its momentum and accelerate growth “both organically and through acquisitions.”
