Role
Who you are
- At least 5+ years experience with UX Research and/or applied research
- Experience conducting in-depth Interviews or focus groups and concept testing or usability testing
- Experience with survey design and applying statistical analysis methods such as Regressions, ANOVA, and T-Tests
- Ability to work independently, autonomously, and cross-functionally with design, product management, content strategy, engineering and marketing
- Proven experience in translating research findings into strategic narratives and influencing product roadmaps in a way that impacts the business
- Solid understanding of common qualitative and quantitative research methods, and when and how to use mixed methods
- Experience working directly with product teams (primarily Product Design and Product Management)
- Exceptional communication skills, comfortable presenting to groups, creating compelling stories from user data, and building relationships across interdisciplinary stakeholders
What the job involves
- We are looking for a passionate Senior UX Researcher to join our growing research team
- As the second team member, you’ll be instrumental in elevating the impact of UX research across the organization
- You will work closely with product managers, designers, and cross-functional partners to drive research throughout the product life cycle to strategically impact both company and product direction
- Your focus will be to provide actionable insights to shape experiences for beauty and wellness business users and their customers

- You will report to the Head of UX Research
- Work closely with product and business teams to identify high-impact user research that address both user behavior and attitudes
- Design and execute end-to-end primary research using a wide variety of qualitative and quantitative methods
- Generate insight and provide input into company and product strategy
- Communicate results and socialize recommendations in compelling and creative ways
- Represent the needs of our users and prospective users and ensure the products we ship bring meaningful value to both the end users and the business
- Build and nurture partnerships with product managers, designers, analysts and engineers
- Manage and prioritize research plans through ambiguous and fast-changing environments, align and efficiently execute critical insights and work with a diverse group of stakeholders

Business management platforms exist for a wide range of industries, including retail, hospitality, and healthcare. However, despite a modern facade the beauty industry lacks specialised software and still runs on generic CRMs and basic spreadsheets. Recognising a gap in the market, GlossGenius has stepped in to provided a specialised business management platform for beauty salons, spas and studios.
With no competition in this niche, GlossGenius has swiftly captured a large market share, with triple-digit year on year revenue growth. It serves over 40,000 businesses (70% of which are women-owned) and has more than $2 billion in annual transactions on the platform.
GlossGenius has raised a large amount of capital in several funding rounds closed in quick succession. It is aiming to accelerate platform development off the back of its releasing of consumer experience, payment and automation products. It is well on the way to fulfilling its long-term aim of developing into the Toast of the beauty industry.
