- Demonstrated capability to improve performance, reliability, and developer experience through testing, reviews, and documentation
What the job involves
- Enable Morpho to deliver world-class DeFi user experiences by building, shipping, and maintaining performant, secure, and intuitive frontend applications that turn complex protocol mechanics into simple, reliable products
- Design and ship end-to-end features with React, TypeScript, and Next.js to improve core Prime apps’ usability and adoption
- Implement secure Web3 interactions with wagmi and viem to enable seamless wallet connections, transactions, and on-chain data reads
- Establish and evolve frontend architectures for scalability by defining patterns for state management, data fetching, and component reuse
- Collaborate with Design to translate product specs into accessible, responsive, and pixel-accurate interfaces across devices
- Improve performance by analyzing bundle sizes, optimizing loading strategies, and refining Web3 interaction flows for low-latency UX
- Raise code quality with thoughtful code reviews, documentation, tests, and continuous refactoring of critical paths
- Mentor teammates by sharing React/Web3 best practices and leading knowledge sessions to level up the engineering bar
- In your first 30 days
- Set up your environment, ship your first production contribution, and learn the architecture of our Curator V2 and Markets V2 apps
- Build relationships with Product, Design, and Protocol teams and participate actively in PRs and planning
- Identify 2–3 quick wins for performance, DX, or quality and outline a plan to address them
- By Month 4–6
- Deliver at least one major feature end-to-end that improves UX or unlocks protocol functionality
- Own a core piece of a Prime application and become the go-to person for that area
- Build trust by consistently delivering high-quality code and communicating clearly and asynchronously
- By Month 12
- Lead the architecture and delivery of a new app or major initiative with scalable patterns adopted across teams
- Uplevel the Morpho Frontend Guild through mentorship, shared components/tooling, and technical workshops
- Establish monitoring and quality systems that reduce production incidents and increase deployment confidence
Our take
Morpho Labs’ Morpho Blue is a blockchain layer for protocols and apps to be built upon. With the ability to externalise risk management, it allows blockchain creators to integrate the layer into their own risk and compliance systems. Ultimately, Morpho is a lending protocol built upon open-source algorithms.
Originally founded as an optimisation layer for interest rate improvements, it has now evolved into a base layer for builders of crypto lending applications. With the intention of making DeFi protocols more accessible and easy to use through a user-controlled risk assessment platform, the company has attracted significant interest from big-hitting investors such as Coinbase Ventures and Variant. Morpho intends to use these funds to accelerate its mission to make financial infrastructure a public good.
