Role
Who you are
- Pursuing a degree in public relations, communication, or journalism
- Excellent understanding of various social media platforms including Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, and Instagram
- Efficient in Google Workspace tools
- Interest in Gaming & Tech industries a plus
- Experience with presentation software, graphic design and digital media tools. Photoshop experience is a major plus
- Self-starter with ability to wear multiple hats and manage multiple projects; excitement and passion to jump in and execute wherever needed
- Very strong verbal and written communication skills
- Good research and analytical skills
- Polished presenter and communicator
- The ability to prioritize your workload and keep to strict content deadlines
What the job involves
- The Fandom Communications Department is looking for an intern for the summer and fall semester with the option to stay on through December
- In this role, you will work closely with the Corporate Communications Manager to assist with general departmental duties including but not limited to: copywriting and social media management, analytics tracking, writing press materials like releases, pitches and bios, managing media lists & media monitoring databases, creation of employee and reporter newsletters, creating monthly & quarterly PR reports, daily press clip management, assisting with all company meeting logistics, and managing the company intranet
- Support the corporate communications manager in implementing the company’s corporate communications strategy
- Create engaging copy & content for media releases, social media platforms, and internal/external newsletters
- Regularly update and maintain the company’s corporate social media pages
- Research relevant industry awards and conferences/events for executive speaking and brand opportunities
- Provide assistance to the communications team with the scheduling and organizing of events
- Update media lists & maintaining media database to ensure all contacts are up to date
- Online monitoring and reporting on relevant brand and competitor news
- Consistent monitoring of PR metrics & growth
- Assist in the development and content management of company’s intranet portal
