Role
Who you are
- Bachelor's degree or above, more than 8 years of information security experience, and more than 5 years of security Product Manager work experience
- Familiar with the security and technology trends of mainstream database products in the industry, highly professional and forward-looking in the security field, and willing to study emerging technologies and products in the industry
- Have good logical expression skills, communication skills, and certain pressure resistance; have teamwork spirit and be able to promote cross-team collaboration
- Have a sense of product innovation and Management By Objectives, with strong driving force and execution
- Database security and database development-related work experience is preferred
- Familiar with AWS, GCP-relevant cloud security products, and cloud security architecture capabilities are preferred
What the job involves
- Responsible for integrating DBaaS kernel with cloud provider identity security, key management, and certificate management services
- Responsible for designing security features for DBaaS service management, writing related specifications, and communicating with the engineering team to implement features
- Responsible for communicating with customers about DBaaS product security features, organizing product security requirements roadmap according to customer needs, and responsible for explaining DBaaS overall security service capabilities to users
- Responsible for researching industry security features for DBaaS, producing DBaaS security architecture design documents, and guiding the engineering team to complete serverless security standardization design
Our take
Frustrations with the available database solutions are what inspired PingCAP. When three infrastructure engineers got together, their aim was to eliminate the issues with management, scalability and maintenance of databases by creating their own open source distributed database.
With worldwide contributions from like-minded developers, the cloud-based NewSQL database TiDB was created. It soon gained great popularity and so, being open source, is constantly being enhanced.
With the creation of a product that eradicates the problems faced when attempting to scale up traditional relational databases, a wealth of data migration tools and no vendor lock-in, TiDB is an attractive proposition for businesses that need future flexibility. Notable clients include China Zheshang Bank, PatSnap and leading Asian logistics company Ninja Van.
With the backing of $270 million Series D funding in 2020, TiDB continues to grow, and a portfolio of complementary products is in development. It also gained positive publicity from its receiving the award for Open Source Data Solution Provider of the Year from the Data Breakthrough Awards 2024.
