Who you are
- The ideal candidate will possess expertise in cloud ecosystems, specifically GCP, and a proven track record of managing high-impact strategic partnerships
- 10+ years of experience in strategic alliances, business development, or partner management, with a strong focus on cloud computing
- Understanding of GCP and experience working within or closely with Google Cloud teams
- Expertise in cloud infrastructure, AI/ML, and data management solutions
- Proven track record of managing complex tier-1 partnerships and executing successful joint go-to-market initiatives
- Exceptional relationship management, negotiation, and communication skills
- Knowledge of cloud marketplaces and co-selling programs
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and drive cross-functional collaboration
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field
- Self-starter with a proactive approach to identifying and solving problems

What the job involves
- The Business Development Director for Google Cloud Platform, will be responsible for leading and expanding VAST Data's strategic engagement with Google Cloud
- This role involves developing and executing go-to-market strategies, fostering technical and business alignment, and driving joint revenue growth through innovative cloud solutions
- Alliance Strategy & Leadership - Own the global strategic relationship with GCP, aligning on business priorities and driving joint initiatives across AI/ML and data-intensive workloads. Identify integration opportunities and lead the development of differentiated joint solutions
- Go-to-Market (GTM) & Market Activation - Develop and execute joint GTM strategies with sales, marketing, product, and engineering. Lead co-marketing programs, campaigns, and events, and drive the creation of compelling joint customer success stories
- Revenue Growth & Sales Enablement - Enable co-selling by equipping VAST and GCP field teams with training and sales tools. Build strong field relationships to accelerate pipeline creation, track revenue growth, and align on priority industries
- Performance & Partnership Management - Define and manage KPIs (pipeline, revenue, market expansion), oversee partnership agreements, and stay aligned with GCP’s evolving roadmap to identify new collaboration opportunities
- Executive Engagement & Internal Advocacy - Act as executive sponsor and internal champion for the partnership. Provide leadership visibility into performance and growth opportunities while maintaining strong executive relationships within GCP
Our take
VAST Data is building what you might call the plumbing for the AI era - a purpose-built data platform that unifies storage, compute, and data services in a single, scalable system. With its disaggregated, shared-everything (DASE) architecture, it allows companies to scale their storage independently from compute, meaning AI workloads can grow without behind held back by infrastructure bottlenecks. And their platform delivers flash-speed performance, multi-protocol access, and enterprsie-grade reliability, all while keeping costs reasonable.
This architecture is especially relevant now and the company has recently partnered with GMI CLoud as a key data infrastructure provider for GMI's ambitious new "AI factory" in Taiwan. The data centre is expected to house 7,000 NVIDIA Blackwell GPUS and will lean on VAST's exabyte-scale storage to handle data for model training, inference, and real-time processing.
On top of this, VAST has secured some major partnerships and deals that really position it strongly for the future of AI infrastructure. In November 2025, it struck a $1.17B agreement with CoreWeave, making VASt the primary data foundation for their GPU cloud. It also expanded its collaboration with Google CLoud to offer its AI Operating System as a fully managed service, allowsing global data access across on-prem and cloud environments using VAST DataSpace. These moves suggest VAST isn't just keeping up with AI demand but shaping the infrastructure that will power the next generation of large-scale, distributed intelligent systems.
