Who you are
- Are you a customer-obsessed Solution Architect with a passion for helping customers achieve their full potential?
- Do you have a background in Migrating and Modernization on-premise workloads to a cloud hyperscaler, do you also have commercial awareness necessary to help position AWS as the cloud provider?
- Do you love building new strategic and data-driven businesses?
- Experience within specific technology domain areas (e.g. software development, cloud computing, systems engineering, infrastructure, security, networking, data & analytics)
- Experience in design, implementation, or consulting in applications and infrastructures
- History of successful technical consulting and/or architecture engagements with large-scale customers or enterprises
- Experience with VMware or similar datacenter hypervisor solutions
- Experience migrating and transforming Microsoft workloads to the cloud
Desirable
- 10+ years design/implementation/consulting experience of x86 based applications and infrastructure
- 6+ years management of technical, customer facing people
- AWS Industry certifications such as - VMware VCP/VCAP, Microsoft Azure Certifications, AWS Solution Architect
What the job involves
- We are looking for a highly motivated and passionate Senior Solution Architect to join the AWS Global Sales (AGS) Enterprise Applications, Migration and Modernisation team as Infrastructure Modernization Specialist Solutions Architect
- This role will focus on our French region which is part of AWS Sales, Marketing, and Global Services (SMGS)
- SMGS is responsible for driving revenue, adoption, and growth from the largest and fastest growing small- and mid-market accounts to enterprise-level customers including public sector
- As an Infrastructure Modernization Solution Architect, you will help drive solutions for our customers who are aiming to migrate their workloads typically residing on VMware on premise solutions to AWS native technologies via our many VMware migration pathways
- You will also have a good understanding of Microsoft technologies including .NET frameworks with a view to modernize .NET, additionally other workload knowledge is important including Linux and Container solutions
- Work alongside your aligned business development manager in order to provide business support, develop go-to-market motions and scaling mechanisms within the France region
- Represent the voice of the customer; collaborate with field and France teams to bring customer feedback to product teams
- Provide specialist technical knowledge to your aligned specialist teams to unblock our customers’ largest and most critical business challenges
- Collaborate with Worldwide Specialist Organization (WWSO) teams to provide technical insights into GTM strategy and support field marketing to execute local technical events, campaigns, and customer engagements
- Act as a thought leader sharing best practices through forums such as AWS blogs, whitepapers, reference architectures and public-speaking events such as AWS Summit, AWS re:Invent
- Create internal field enablement materials for the broader SA population to help them understand how to migrate VMware on premise datacenters to AWS migration pathways
- Become an active member and contributor to the AWS Technical Field Community (TFC) within your specialist domain

Many businesses are now shifting ad dollars to retailers, which before would have been spent with online media platforms. Amazon's seen great success in the space, with its revenue from advertising now higher than its Amazon Prime membership scheme, audiobooks and digital music combined. This growth is particularly impressive considering its digital ad rivals (like Snap, Alphabet, and Meta) have suffered declines due to wider macroeconomic factors and Apple's iOS privacy changes.
Despite its dominant market position, Amazon will continue to be challenged over the next decade, including sustaining AWS's cloud dominance in the face of Google and Microsoft. On top of this, the company's e-commerce division is facing profitability problems despite its 2023 post-IPO debt funding of 8 billion. It will need to find new ways to stay above their competitors.
