Role
Who you are
- BA/BS degree or higher in Computer Science, Engineering or Game Development
- 3+ years of Unity and/or Unreal Engine development experience
- 3+ years of technical experience as a game developer
- Exceptional product intuition, problem-solving skills, and attention to detail
- Experience working with strategic partners and presenting to executives
- Passionate about learning and applying cutting edge AI research
- Understanding and experience with LLM prompt engineering
- Hacker mindset and ability to think outside the box
- Experience in programming AI, low-level networking, and audio is a big plus

- Help shape the future of AI by developing and executing on the vision for AI-driven video games and interactive experiences
- In this unique role as a Forward Deployed Engineer, you will work closely with high profile partners to define, deploy and launch groundbreaking immersive experiences
- This is an opportunity to build 0 to 1 product experiences at the intersection of many of today’s most transformative technologies
- Work alongside top AI/ML engineering and product leaders to define requirements, collaborate with partners, solve technical challenges and launch our products
- Work closely with our Product + Partnerships teams to ensure that critical partner projects are successful
- Solve deeply technical challenges related to AI character interactions and behaviors
- Work closely with C-level executives and industry leaders to understand business and product needs and translate them into clear product requirements for our platform and characters
- Translate partners’ feedback and requests into product requirements and roadmap, driving prioritization and pre- and post-launch execution
- Develop vision and prototype/pilot versions of next generation immersive experiences
Our take
Dialogue writing for video games has traditionally been a matter of branching conversations based on player input, but this is a time-consuming and complicated process. In modern virtual environments which can contain thousands of characters, the need to save on costs means that conversations with many characters can be shallow and repetitive. Inworld AI's solution allows for the creation of unique and flexible interactions for even the most minor characters, based on just a few descriptive sentences.
As a novel application of AI to the games industry Inworld has grown rapidly, closing a seed financing round in 2021 and releasing its first product before being selected to join the 2022 Disney Accelerator. While the functionality of AI characters in a major release has yet to be tested, early signs for the company have been promising and it has attracted a major hire in John Gaeta (of Matrix fame) as Chief Creative Officer.
Inworld AI has recently closed another major round of funding, which it will use for product development and hiring. While it has yet to announce a pricing structure for its product, it is already looking at applications outside gaming and the metaverse, aiming at entertainment more broadly, sales, marketing, and education as just a few possible areas for expansion.
