  • 4+ years relevant work experience in program or project management in data or technology-driven environments. Demonstrated success in managing complex, cross-functional projects and programs
  • Startup mindset - looking for someone who isn’t afraid of white space and can take something zero to one. Looking for collaborative spirit, a penchant for building and the flexibility + confidence to experiment and react in real time
  • Strong organizational and leadership skills with a track record of managing complex projects effectively. Excellent communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with both internal teams and external partners
  • Self-motivated with a strong problem-solving mindset. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. Detail-oriented with a commitment to delivering high-quality results

What the job involves

  • This is a high-ownership opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge approaches to data development
  • This role is a contract position for now - assuming we find a mutual fit within the first 3 months, we have high confidence this will be converted to a permanent position
  • Conduct resource planning to estimate and address hiring needs for program execution. Partner with the People team to recruit and onboard new team members into the program
  • Identify potential risks and issues related to program execution. Develop mitigation strategies and contingency plans to address and manage risks effectively
  • Serve as the primary point of contact between Snorkel Research and external vendors/partners who may support the program. This includes vendor selection, facilitating relationships, assisting with contract negotiations, ensuring alignment with project objectives and deliverables, and creating standards and process guidelines
  • Serve as a point of contact for our customers - liaise with their team on clarifying deliverables, communicating timelines and general updates on the project
  • Develop and implement processes and documentation to support program execution. Continuously assess and improve operational workflows to enhance efficiency and effectiveness
  • Work closely with research, engineering, and other teams to align goals and deliverables. Facilitate communication and collaboration across teams to drive program success and address any cross-functional challenges
  • Monitor and report on program performance metrics. Provide regular updates on program progress, risks, and issues. Propose and implement corrective actions as necessary
  • Manage one or more program or project managers, providing day to day guidance and task prioritization

Our take

Demand for AI is increasing in almost every industry, but the machine learning that fuels it is tedious to set up. In order to train machine learning algorithms, training data must be labelled manually, and this contributes to expenses in time, money and resources when integrating AI within a business.

Snorkel AI develops programmatic approaches to data labelling in order to automate the setup process of machine learning and decrease the required timeframe for a business to begin providing AI services. In addition to these automated data categorization services, the company also integrates data training, management, and analysis into a unified AI-deployment platform.

The complex computer science behind AI setup has resulted in many businesses without computer science backgrounds being left behind, and Snorkel AI has set this as their target audience. As of 2023, this customer base has tripled in size since Snorkel AI's founding and in 2024, enjoyed a new round of funding. With these promising developments, the company continues to innovate the sector.
